How To Make Honey Nut Cheerio Balls

Prepare a large cookie sheet with non-stick spray or a non-stick silicone baking mat and set aside.

Place marshmallows, peanut butter and honey in a saucepan. Heat this mixture on medium-high, stirring constantly.

When the marshmallows completely melt, remove from heat and stir in the Cheerios.

TIP: If the pan is too small for everything together, place mixture in a large mixing bowl and add Cheerios.

Stir until Cheerios are completely coated.

Portion out mixture and roll into balls. Place on on your prepared sheet, then move the cookie sheet to the fridge. Allow Cheerio balls to chill for at least an hour before serving.

S For Putting It All Together

Here we go with this easy recipe that only requires a bit of time and no heavy lifting in the kitchen.

    1. After measuring out your ingredients, its time to combine the peanut butter and honey. You will gently warm them in the microwave to loosen them up. Once they are warm they will blend together much easier. Dont forget to throw a bit of vanilla flavoring in there but that is optional.

    2. Mix about half the Cheerios and all the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the warm mixture. Stir gently to coat well. Then, add the remainder of the Cheerios and coat those as well.

    3. Dump the mix into a parchment lined pan or dish. Use a spatula tool to press the ingredients firmly down into the pan. Place in the freezer for an hour or so this makes the peanut butter Cheerio bars so much easier to cut.

    4. After the cooling time, remove the slab from the container. Use a large knife to cut your bars to the size desired. Store in an air-tight container.

Reasons To Love These Cereal Bars

These are SOO EASY to whip up with ingredients you probably already have on hand. ZERO cooking involved!

While store-bought cereal bars are convenient, they can be quite expensive. Not to mention many of them are overly sweet with a long list of ingredients and added sugars.

If you have 10 minutes to spare, you will be able to whip up a healthier, less expensive, and equally delicious version!

Not Just For Kids And Ingredients

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios Bites | Easy Desserts

When I asked Mr. Scrummy to taste test these peanut butter Cheerio bars, he said: Theyre good, but arent they a kids thing?

Er, nope. Ive certainly never yet met an adult who turned one down.

And why would they? Just look at the list of ingredients:

    • Cheerios cereal: I like to use the ones made of wheat, oats and rice, but whichever type you like.
    • melted butter: I like salted which I think adds something to the final taste, but unsalted is just fine too.
    • peanut butter: I use natural and crunchy, but again, your favourite brand is fine.
    • melted marshmallows: Pink, white or pink AND white are fine.
    • melted chocolate: I always prefer dark chocolate, but milk or even white is fine too.

All the melty things. Nothing to argue with there. Essentially this is a 5-ingredient recipe.

Other than the fact that theyre

    • buttery
    • sweet but not too sweet
    • altogether delicious

what I particularly like about these peanut butter Cheerio treats is that they take mere minutes to make.

These make a perfect little lunchbox, picnic or party treat. Theyre also a grab-one-every-time-you-open-the-fridge sort of thing, which could be a problem.

Ingredients In Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars

Im betting that you already have these items in your cupboards!

Complete list of ingredients and amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

    • Cheerios Regular, plain cheerios are perfect for this recipe, although if you have some extra multigrain or honey nut Cheerios you could use those too. You need about 3 cups of cereal.
    • Peanut Butter Use your favorite brand of creamy peanut butter. I find that all natural peanut butters dont work quite as well for this recipe because they wont firm up as well. So I use a standard variety of peanut butter. If you want to use an all natural peanut butter or other nut butter, you may need to store these in the fridge to keep them firm.
    • Honey Honey adds sweetness to these bars and helps hold the cereal together.
    • Vanilla Extract This is optional, but I love the extra flavor that it gives to these peanut butter cheerio bars.

    How To Make Cheerio Bars:

Peanut butter and Honey Cheerio Bar recipe perfect for on the go ...

You wont believe how easy this is! Once you see how quickly it comes together and how DELICIOUS these are, youll be making them on repeat, guaranteed.

Place the peanut butter and agave in a large bowl and heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds. You could also put the ingredients in a pot over medium heat and whisk until warm and smooth.

Then, add the cheerios to the bowl and fold together until the cheerios are completely coated with the peanut butter mixture.

Line an 8×8 square pan with parchment paper. Trust me, parchment paper is amazing later when you want to pull up the bars from the pan.

Use a rubber spatula to press the cheerios into a single, even layer in the bottom of the pan.

Chill in the freezer at at least 1 hour.

Pull the bars out of the pan by pulling up the edges of the parchment paper. Place them on a cutting board and cut into 12 bars. Sprinkle with salt and enjoy!

Peanut Butter Cheerios Bars The Classic O

If youve been craving a dessert that will take you back to your childhood, then these Peanut Butter Cheerios Bars are a must make!

I recently came across a box of Cheerios in the depths of my pantry and knew that they werent likely to be eaten for breakfast. My boys havent eaten Cheerios since they were toddlers, and theyre teenagers and adults now.

So I figured Id have to come up with a creative way to use my new found box of cereal. And these delicious Cheerios bars were just the thing.

I had something like a Rice Krispies Treat in mind, but with the addition of peanut butter, and decided Id adapt an existing recipe to satisfying my peanut butter cravings.

I know people have been making no-bake cereal bars like this for years, but thats how my version of the recipe was born.

I quickly found out that everyone at my house still loved Cheerios. No one had outgrown their favorite childhood finger food after all.

At least, not when it was made into these crunchy, chewy treats made with marshmallows, peanut butter, and a splash of vanilla. I think my boys actually loved these as much as my Rice Krispies Treats.

Which got me wondering how many other cereals I could transform into desserts? I have made a version with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Im sure the possibilities are as endless as the varieties of cereal available.

My sister in law was in town when I made the latest batch of these and she was so excited. I had no idea my Mother in Law used to make them for John and his sister as an afterschool treat. It was so fun hearing them talk about what they used to be like as kids.

This past year has shown how important it is to make sure your pantry is stocked and filled with ingredients you can use in multiple recipes.

I know my grocery shopping has changed a lot since we started staying home 24/7 and only shopping once a week. My goal for this year is to keep sharing easy recipes that use mainly pantry staples. I may throw in some fun random surprises but for the most part my goal is easy recipes we can all make.

Did you see the Muffin Mix Pancakes we shared a few days ago? Don’t miss the 3 ingredient banana bread recipe that is so easy to make with pantry staples.

    Ingredients Needed

    • Cheerios Cereal

Add-ins – You can easily add in chocolate chips for more flavors.

I use plain Cheerios Cereal but you can use Honey Nut Cheerios or any flavor Cheerios.

    Equipment Needed

Sauce pan – Make sure you use a saucepan or pot that is big enough to handle all of the ingredients when you mix them in.

Wooden Spoon – I find a wooden spoon perfect for mixing these together and getting clean afterward.

Parchment Paper – I am a huge fan of using parchment paper to make clean up and serving so much easier. You can also use wax paper but I feel like parchment paper works the best.

Place the mixture into a lined 8×8 dish and use your hands to press it into place.

Refrigerate for at least one hour and then cut as desired into squares or bars. If you use parchment paper, the hardened mixture will pop right out of the dish so that you can easily cut it.

Now, take a bite. And then another. Inhale. Savor the peanut buttery goodness. Also, store any leftovers in the fridge.

These Cheerio bars are moist, gooey, and crunchy all at the same time. The texture and flavor is incredibly satisfying. You could even add in some chocolate chips. Yaaaas.

    Hello & Happy Wednesday!!

This week were celebrating Ronins first birthday! That being said Ive been in the kitchen a little less and exploring nostalgic eats because birthdays are like being a kid all over again. One of my favorite things to do every so often is take nostalgic recipes and put a modern health spin on them!

One of those, is cereal concepts! Ill be honest, the only time I reached for cereal was when I was pregnant. Prior to that it was perhaps in high school? Today I do avocado toast or a smoothie, but there is something about cereal that just takes you back to your childhood. Back in mid to late 90s cereal overtook the shelves and there was a new brand every minute. From this time period I recall countless cereal concepts being born, and one of them was these Cheerio bars!

    Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars

Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars are my go-to, quick and easy after school snack. This cereal bar recipe is no-bake and only requires three ingredients.

With only a few weeks left before its time for back-to-school, I am busy planning lunch ideas and stocking up on snacks and treats. Last year I had a hard time finding foods my kiddos would eat and not just come back home with the majority of everything I packed still in the lunch box.

So this summer we spent a lot of time in the kitchen coming up with winning combinations together. My girls are currently loving this Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Homemade Spaghettios, and Kid-Friendly Fruit Sushi.

    Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars

I love creating recipes based on items that we keep stocked at all times, and peanut butter and honey are obvious pantry staples! My kids eat peanut butter by the spoonful, but we also use it in my Classic Peanut Butter Cookies and Peanut Butter M& M Cookies. I use honey in this savory Honey Chipotle Meatballs recipe and as a delicious Honey Lime Dressing with fresh fruit.

These Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars were a hit with all of my kiddos. Bonus: with only three ingredients they were easy enough for little hands to help make. Sometimes we like to trick this cereal bars recipe up and make these Chocolate Caramel Cheerios Bars.
