Just popping in for a quick post today! I dont often share these kind of recipes, mostly because we dont drink often But when I do, Jameson is my liquor of choice. Its a crazy smooth, balanced whiskey without any funny, lingering aftertaste.

How To Make Homemade Ginger Ale
The first thing you need to do to make your own ginger ale is peel and grate fresh ginger root. Do not get out a knife to peel the ginger. All you need is a spoon. Yep, the back edge of a spoon will easily peel the ginger! If you do choose to use a potato peeler, go for it. But, I encourage you to give the spoon trick a try. You can also break off pieces of the ginger if that makes the peeling easier.
Once peeled, its time to grate the ginger to be used in the ginger ale mix. Combine 2 tablespoons grated ginger, lemon juice from 1 lemon, 2 tablespoons honey, and a little water to a blender. Blend all the ingredients together. Pour the ginger mixture through a fine strainer, into a glass. You should have enough to make two drinks after mixing it with sparkling water. Drink it on its own, or of course, add it to your Jameson whiskey!

You can use any type of whiskey in your Whiskey Ginger: youll get a different drink with each variety! Here are the major types of whiskey and how the flavors change the drink, listed in order of our preference:
- Rye: The most common choice for a Whiskey Ginger! The spicy and peppery notes of rye are a good complement to the subtle sweetness of ginger ale.
- Bourbon: Bourbon has a sweeter flavor than other styles of whiskey, with notes of vanilla, oak and caramel.
- Irish: Irish whiskey is a great choice! Its light and fruity, with a subtle floral scent and hints of nutty and vanilla tones.
- Scotch: Scotch also works! Blended Scotch is malty and buttery, with a spicy finish. Single malt Scotch tastes oaky and woody, with signature peaty and smoky notes. You could also use a good Japanese whisky as well.

We use Jameson Whiskey in our Whiskey Ginger in our Whiskey Ginger recipe. Despite its global popularity, the moderately-priced, triple-distilled whiskey is produced in Ireland with local barley and water sourced from the Dungourney River.
Jameson whiskey matures for at least four years in oak casks previously used to age Kentucky bourbon and Spanish sherry. Due to this maturation process and its triple distillation, Jamesons whiskey has a particularly smooth finish that works well in this recipe.
