One of my favorite smells is that of chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven. Growing up, my mom would make them every time the cookie jar was empty, and I would try to steal as many as possible before they were put away. Chocolate chip cookies are the classic dessert, universally beloved and unfailingly delicious. However, you can taste the difference when it comes to which chocolate chips you use, and while Hershey‘s and Nestle Toll House are popular, nothing quite beats the rich flavor of Ghirardelli. Here are 10 Ghirardelli chocolate chips to make the perfect cookie.
Ghirardelli Flourless Fudgy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate-forward with a nice crunch from pecans, these cookies boast two types of chocolate with a delightfully crisp outside and a rich, fudgy interior. Pro tip: Make sure to whisk the egg whites until they are very foamy–this gives the cookies the ‘lift’ they need.

|1 cup finely chopped pecans
|cup Ghirardelli Premium Baking Cocoa
|¼ teaspoon table salt
|3 large egg whites, at room temperature
|2 teaspoons vanilla extract
|1 cup Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Chips
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet, and bake in preheated oven until toasted and fragrant, 6 to 8 minutes, stirring halfway through. Let cool completely, about 20 minutes.
- Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper lightly coat parchment with cooking spray.
- Sift together powdered sugar, Ghirardelli Premium Baking Cocoa, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk egg whites in a separate bowl until frothy, about 1 1/2 minutes. Stir egg whites and vanilla into powdered sugar mixture. Batter will be very thick. Stir in Ghirardelli Bittersweet Chocolate Chips and toasted pecans until well combined.
- Using a 1 1/2-inch cookie scoop , scoop dough, and place 3 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
- Bake in preheated oven until tops are shiny and cracked, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes transfer to wire racks and cool completely, about 15 minutes.

I dont know about you, but when I think about Valentines Day, I immediately think about chocolate. Rich, packed with flavour chocolate. Personally, Im more of a dark chocolate, bittersweet kind of girl, served in any way possible. Chocolate = Valentines Day.
In fact, for years one of my favourite Valentines Day gifts have been chocolate, and last year when the Mr. and I celebrated Valentines Day, chocolate was definitely a part of the gift package. Ahem, you might say I love chocolate.
But really, theres just something about the idea that LOVE is in the air! That people are openly expressing it! Im such a Valentines Day lover in general but then again Im also that girl that cries tears of joy at Say Yes To The Dress, or you know, that scene in Breakfast at Tiffany, or The Notebookyou get my drift.
The funny part is that, I always use Ghirardelli premium baking chips in my baking, and for the past month I quietly devoured a bag of Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips that were gently positioned in my desks draw for you know, those days when the work gets harder, which my mind equated to a handful a day.
I see those eyes, dont judge me.
I tell you, I could go on all day.

Like a moth to a flame, Im back for more cookies. Last week, we took a one week Saturday Snacks sweets break and whipped up a fresh and tropical smoothie from Disney Cruise Line. That one week break from all of the sweet treats was good, but now were back to business, and were jumping right on in as we whip up another recipe with Ghirardelli in the name. It goes without saying that I have high hopes for this weekends recipe.
Two weeks ago, we made Ghirardellis Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies, and let me just say that those little babies did not disappoint. Holy cow they were good. A month or so ago, we made Grand Floridian Resort & Spas Chocolate Chip Cookies, and, as you would expect from the Grands bakery team, they were amazing.
Today, we turn back to the ever-faithful Ghirardelli. For those of you who havent visited Ghirardelli at Disney Springs recently, let me assure you that its still serving up yummy treats to awaiting guests.
As we did for the Ghirardelli recipe two Saturdays ago, were going to use Ghirardellis semi-sweet chocolate chips. Sometimes only the best will do. That being said, if you have non-Ghirardelli chocolate chips on-hand, those will be perfect. We Saturday Snackers are wise like that.
Our first step is to preheat the oven to 375 degrees, and toss the flour, a teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into a bowl.

- Whisk together the flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside. Measure out the oats and set those aside too.

|2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
|1 teaspoon baking soda
|2 cups ghirardelli milk chocolate chips
|1 cup chopped walnuts or 1 cup pecans

- Stir Flour with baking soda and salt, set aside.
- Beat butter with sugar and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy and lightened in color .
- Add Vanilla and eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
- Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture.
- Stir in Chocolate chips and nuts .
- Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Baking Soda Make sure you check the date, sometimes the baking soda that is in the fridge has been in there a while.

Ghirardellis Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies are delightful. Well, Ive finally succeeded in baking my first gluten free cookie! Ive made so many gluten free casseroles, pastas, main dishes, and soup recipes, but Ive been a chicken when it comes to baking gluten free.
Ive done pancakes, breads, muffins, and a few cobbler recipes, but this is my first try at cookies. Both John and I loved these delicious, crispy chocolate chip cookies. We used Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips, and Gluten Free flour instead of the unbleached all-purpose flour I usually use. The results were fantastic.
I wasnt originally planning on making gluten free cookies this Christmas. But John and I had lunch with a friend and co-worker a couple of months ago. He wanted to talk to me a little about my blog because he knew I had posted quite a few gluten free recipes. He, and several family members, have issues with gluten intolerance, and he wanted to know what products I used in baking and cooking.
There are so many good gluten free all-purpose flours available today to replace regular all-purpose flour. . While I initially used Pamelas GF baking mix when I posted this recipe, it is definitely NOT my preferred GF flour. My favorites include Cup4Cup, Better Batter and even Pillsbury has a decent GF flour available today . They are great alternatives for those who have Celiac Disease or difficulties with gluten to any degree.
