  • 1 oz of any carrier oil such as almond, olive or coconut
  • 2 oz glass bottle

Instructions:

  • Add all the oils then top with carrier oil of choice into the clean glass bowl.
  • Make sure you mix the oils thoroughly.
  • Apply the mixture on the affected area or the whole foot as needed.

Never Heat Up The Oils

It might seem like a good idea that you could heat up the oil to make the experience more pleasurable and to provide some pain relief. However, this is NOT a good idea.

Oils can burn, so please never consider warming it up in the microwave or anything silly like that. Please use your common sense!

Rubbing the oil in your hands before you apply it to your feet will make it warm enough similar to how a massage therapist uses their oils.

In the case of a reaction, we would recommend that you stop use immediately. Do not dilute with water or wet compresses. More sensitive individuals are recommended to try a small amount of product initially to determine their tolerance to the blend. If no reaction occurs then the amount of product can be gradually increased up to the recommended dose. The product may also be further diluted with a common carrier such as grapeseed or jojoba.

What Plantar Fasciitis Is Not

If the pain starts in the buttocks or in the knees and radiates down to the heel, the plantar fascia may not be responsible for it.

Similarly, if the pain is felt more as a tingling/burning discomfort than a sharp jolt-like stabbing sensation, it may not be linked to the plantar fascia.

Also, pain that is predominantly felt at night/through the night but resolves itself by morning only to return at the end of the day, is not attributed to this condition.

What The Research Says

Unfortunately, there isnt any actual research to back back up claims that essential oils can be used to effectively treat the symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis. And while it can be tempting to believe anecdotes about cures that come from using essential oils alone, understanding the dynamics of whats actually happening to cause Plantar Fasciitis can shed some light on the reasons that research to back up such claims isnt forthcoming.

Plantar Fasciitis is caused by wear and strain to the fascia . Small tears and inflammation develop over time due to improper support of the arch , which causes the hallmark symptom of Plantar Fasciitis, heel pain.

In other words, because Plantar Fasciitis is caused and exacerbated by a lack of support of the arch and strain to the tissues in the fascia, the most successful cure and treatment is to strengthen, cushion, and better support the base of the ligament.

Simply apply the oil and gently rub or massage it into the area where you feel pain the most. For plantar fasciitis sufferers, this will be along the sole of the foot where the fascia joins from the heel to the ball.

Dont overdo the massage though be gentle and if you feel any pain, stop immediately.

The propagation of this myth has understandably provided the impetus to write about all those herbs and oils that can cure the condition because they work so well against inflammation.

    Plantar Fasciitis Is A Pain

Cure Plantar Fasciitis, Top 10 Essential Oils for Plantar Fasciitis Treatment.

Plantar Fasciitis was a plague over the summer, a plague! I do admit it was my fault, I spent too much time in flip flops or barefoot on tile floors. My feet are happiest in a pair of hiking boots with foot beds so summertime is always a rude awakening for them. Short of donning hiking boots in the middle of summer, I did manage to find a few things that worked for me.

First and foremost… I had to say goodbye to “carefree days” in flip flops.

I also tried to remember to stretch my calves often, especially first thing in the morning, this helped immensely!

Plantar Fasciitis can be debilitating, making it difficult to stand too long or walk very far. It’s a painful inflammatory process of the plantar fascia which is a thick connective tissue that starts at the heel bone and runs along the sole of the foot to the toes.

When the plantar fascia gets inflamed, yowsers!

Along with a better choice of footwear and stretching I used an EO protocol that helped so much! The protocol is simple but you need to be consistent to get results!

1 drop Lemongrass 1 drop Birch 1 drop Silver Fir

….with little Naked Salve for a nice application massage .

I layered these EOs, ie: I applied Lemongrass on the painful area first, followed by Birch then drove the EOs in with Silver Fir and placed a hot compress over the area for 10 minutes. Divine! I didn’t always have time for a hot compress, but it does speed the healing along.

Essential Oils As Natural Remedies & Pain Relievers

Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts containing active chemicals that support the bodys healing mechanisms.

EOs contain strong anti-inflammatory properties and can also relieve pain without the potentially harmful side effects of pain meds.

This makes them an excellent first choice for muscle pain, foot pain, and back pain too.

    Apply Lavender Essential Oil

According to a 2015 study, lavender essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties that make it a possible treatment for pain caused by inflammation. Try diluting a drop or two in a carrier oil, such as olive or coconut oil, and massaging it into the bottoms of your feet. You can also try adding a few drops to a warm foot bath.

    Noninvasive Or Minimally Invasive

These treatment options are next in line if those mentioned above donât work. As you may have guessed, they tend to be harder on the pocket. However, in terms of relief, they rarely offer more than the modalities discussed above. These include:

    Steroid injections

This is possibly the most common type of treatment to deal with any kind of ligament or muscular inflammation. A corticosteroid is injected directly into the affected area. It offers some amount of relief from the pain and the inflammation when you are dealing with acute and even chronic plantar fasciitis.

However, the effects are often short-lived, so about 6 months down the line the discomfort will come rolling back into your life. Unfortunately, this is not the type of treatment that can be continued indefinitely. Moreover, side effects include tendon weakening, greater susceptibility to infections and thinning of the bones close to the site of administration.

    Ultrasound therapy

As the name suggests, sound waves are used to target the inflammation and the scar tissue in this form of treatment. However, this has to be done from the inside. So, a few small cuts are made to insert the probe. This is usually done under local anesthesia.

    Intracorporeal pneumatic shock therapy

The good news is that ISPT helps to remove heel spurs. The bad news is that heel spurs are a result of plantar fasciitis and not the cause of the condition. Moreover, they cannot be implicated for the pain.

    Radiation therapy
