Tofu comes in all different styles and textures, but our favorite way to eat it is crispy. And if youve never tried it yourself, this recipe for crispy tofu steaks with broccoli rabe and romesco is a good place to start. The crispy tofu was enough to reel us in, but what really impressed us was the ingenious shortcut for the sauce.

Clean Eating 7 Day Meal Plan

Here is my first clean eating menu plan, week 1. I hope you love it! Youll find weeks 2 4 at the bottom of the post!

This clean eating 7 day meal plan includes 5 breakfasts, 10 snacks, 5 lunches and 6 dinners, so you can mix and match to create the perfect meal plan for you.

I think most of the recipes for breakfast, lunch, and snack are self-explanatory, but I have included recipes for all of the dinner options throughout the week. You can print or download the PDF of the meal plan here, or simply click on any of the images.

What To Eat On A Clean

  • Vegetables: The more the better, especially when it comes to leafy greens. Frozen vegetables are a great option too.
  • Fruit: Opt for fresh or frozen fruit. If looking at canned fruit, opt for options canned in their own fruit juice instead of sugary syrup.
  • Whole Grains: Oats, whole-wheat, barley and quinoa are great options.
  • Nuts and Seeds: Choose plain, raw, roasted or salted nuts but skip most other flavors as they contained added sugars. When choosing peanut butter, choose options with just two ingredients: peanuts and salt.
  • Healthy Fats: Fatty fish, like salmon, as well as olive oil and avocado are great healthy fat options.
  • Legumes: Beans and lentils are high in fiber and protein, plus the canned options are a convenient pantry staples.
  • Lean Proteins: When choosing proteins, opt for more chicken, turkey, fish, Greek yogurt and legumes.

How To Start A Clean Eating Diet

1. Include a lot of healthywhole foods in your diet.

If you are currently on a diet full of highly processed foods containing large amounts of refined sugar and sodium, dont start by excluding anything in your diet, but rather by INCLUDING a lot of healthy whole foods.

Go to the grocery store and first fill your cart with all the things you want to include in your diet that will nourish your body.

Buy tons of vegetables, a lot of fruit, a reasonable amount of protein, and healthy carbohydrates. You will most likely reduce the amount of processed food in your cart by 80% simply because your cart is already full.

2. Meal Plan.

Meal planning is key for successful grocery shopping. You will not only buy the ingredients you need, avoid food waste AND save money! But youll also spend way less time wandering around the aisles with the chance of grabbing some junk food.

Before going to the store, go with a plan. Write down the recipes for the days you want to plan ahead for and make a list of the ingredients.

Plan ahead your meals from breakfast to bedtime. Some people like to plan day by day and include their cravings for certain foods or deals of the day in the store. Others like to plan out the whole week. Do whatever works best for you, but write it down on a list and bring it to the store with you.

Buy all the things your clean eating meal plan calls for. Only then, when you have all of it in your cart, if you cant help it, then go down the junk food aisle.

How To Create A Healthy Clean Eating Menu

‘Clean eating’, or a clean eating diet, is a phrase/concept you have probably seen increasingly being used over the last few years. This has been coined as an expression that refers to a wholesome way of eating focused on organic foods meaning, a lifestyle based on eating natural foods like whole-grains, fruits and veggies, lean proteins, and heart healthy fats like avocados, nuts and seeds, and plant based oils.

Clean eating refers to the consumption of minimally processed foods, ethically raised, and rich in nutrients.

Since ‘clean’ is an arbitrary term, it does not mean foods that do not meet the criteria described above are ‘dirty’ or harmful to eat. Limiting certain foods that may not provide sound nutrition, and substituting these with nutrient dense foods for the bulk of your eating habits is what this lifestyle promotes.

Use a stainless steel pan instead of a nonstick here, if possible.
