One thing I love about this recipe is that you can whiz up this dressing in the food processor for a quick weeknight recipe.

Plus, I save money by making it. Bottled salad dressings especially Paleo-friendly ones have become so expensive that being able to make my own allows me to enjoy this copycat goddess dressing often.

Chosen brands Paleo version of this dressing, called Earth Goddess, can cost $7 per 8-ounce bottle, and even more than that in Hawaii! The same amount of this homemade dressing costs less than half that much.

For this dressing I have most of the ingredients on hand as refrigerator or pantry staples, and really only need to remember to have a lemon and fresh parsley in my fridge. And I think its one of the most flavorful homemade salad dressings in my recipe box, a perfect combination of tastes.

And, I can customize the dressing depending on the salads we have most often. If its mostly green salads I will focus on enough salty tartness to balance the bitterness of the greens. If well have other salty toppings like seasoned nuts, I can back off on the salt in the dressing. I can use less garlic for anyone who prefers it, and focus on non-GMO ingredients.

All Natural With Lots Of Godess Diva Flavor

I love the flavor of Annie’s Naturals Organic Godess Dressing. You only neeed a small amount because it has a powerful mustard, olive oil, and garden greens flavor. I like to dip chicken tenders, french fries and add it to my salads. It’s great pared with steak or chicken especially as a topping for the latter. It might be good with sushi but I I wouldn’t use it on seafood or delicate meats because it would overpower them. It has no added sweeetner, preservatives or other chemical additives. Some organic items are hard to come by but this dressing is fairly easy to find in grocery stores with all natural/ organic sections.The ingredients read easy, nothing you need a degree in chemistry to figure out Expeller, pressed canola oil, water, tahini, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce , lemon juice, sea salt, garlic, sesame seeds, parsley, chives, xanthan gum Two tablespoons has only 130 calories and as I said a little goes a long way. The fat count is a bit high at 13grams but only one gram is saturated because it’s made from canola oil. if you budjet your fat count for the rest of the day it is a healthy dressing. Sodium is 320 mg. , total carbs are 1g., sugars less than one gream and one gram of protien, 25 iron.I always keep a bottle handy and I would reccomend it to anyone, especially if they are starting on the path to an organic lifestyle.

So What Is Goddess Dressing Made Of

The dressing is the cherry on top. It pulls the flavors of the wrap together and is just a great condiment on its own. You will need:

FAT. we are using olive oil and mayo as the base for our dressing. traditionally yoghurt is used but this version is dairy free!

ACID. lemon juice and vinegar give us the famous tang.

HERBS. parsley, green onion/chives, and garlic. there are a ton of different herbs to use for this dressing and different recipes call for different things. the harder to find ones, we are not using today.

CREAM. avocado! for the creamiest dressing, we need a half an avocado. use the other half for filling your wrap!

FLAVA. dijon mustard gives us a little extra depth of flavor, and of course a pinch of salt and pepper to finish.

To make the vegan goddess dressing, add all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. My personal preference is the smoothie- blender attachment on my blender- its the perfect size for dressings, has a storage cap, and is much easier to clean. Hey, do you.

I started by turning an oven-based recipe into one for the slow cooker.

Then to save a ton of calories/points, I substituted Annie’s Light Goddess Dressing, which has 50% less fat and 50% less calories than their regular Goddess.

  • Althgouh I used chicken breast for this recipe, you could also use boneless skinless chicken thighs.
  • If you can’t find the green goddess dressing, you can make this dish with any light creamy Italian, Caesar, or Greek dressing.
  • If you can’t find jarred artichokes, frozen artichokes work as well.
  • Look for sundried tomatoes packed in water to avoid the extra calories from the oil.
  • To play up the Mediterranean flavors, you can finish the dish with some black olives and fresh lemon juice.
  • If you decide to serve this with pasta, consider adding some freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving. It’s also great with feta cheese or goat cheese.

  • This is really the simplest recipe ever! Just measure all the ingredients into the food processor and let er rip until the garlic is finely chopped.
  • Though I have shown my larger food processor here, a small one will work too, though the volume of dressing is right at the upper limit of the capacity of my smallest Cuisinart that came with my stick blender. With the larger processor you have to be careful that all the garlic chunks get chopped fine, as they can hide under the blades.
  • To make this dressing without a food processor, mince your parsley and press your garlic. Then combine all the ingredients with a whisk.

We are talking about an incredibly creamy green dressing made on a base of avocado and mayo with lots of fresh herbs and lemon juice. Its tangy and herby and freshperfect for dressing salads or serving with wraps!

I grew up eating Goddess Dressing first from Annies in a bottle and then in the famed Green Goddess Wrap from Mermaids Cafe on the island of Kauai. .

Served on a 12 green tortilla, we always ordered a wrap with fresh ahi or chicken, served with this green dressing and a side salad. It was heaven.

Today we are recreating a version of that incredible chicken burrito- with marinaded spicy cumin chicken, fresh pickled onions and choice veg, all wrapped in a homemade green tortilla and served with our own goddess dressing. YUM!
