What type of protein can you use?

I prefer ground beef for hamburger helper but you can sub ground turkey if you like. I get 96& lean ground beef at Aldi or Wal-Mart. It is still ok to eat ground beef on WW, just find a lean version or drain any remaining fat that is in the pot.

Tomato Paste

If you dont like opening the smaller cans of tomato paste, I just love the tomato paste that comes in a tube. There was just enough leftover in mine for this recipe. They are a little bit more expensive but I think theyre worth it. You dont end up wasting tomato paste that way.

What Instant Pot is the best?

I have the Instant Pot Duo 6 QT Electric Pressure Cooker. You can find it on Amazon. Im not sponsored by them, it just a kitchen appliance I really like to use. Gotta love those muti-cookers! The Instant Pot Duo multi-cooker combines 7 appliances in one: pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté pan, yogurt maker and warmer and cooks up to 70% faster!

Are Instant Pots safe?

Dont be intimidated by your pressure because youre afraid the lid will pop off or explode! Pressure cookers have built-in features that are for safety reasons. Some of the most common errors made are when the user forgets to turn the venting knob to sealing mode, overfills the pot, or uses the timer button to set the cooking time.

This Instant Pot Cheesy Ground Beef and Rice is incredibly easy to make and requires only basic ingredients you probably already have on hand. It’s a family-friendly meal that’s ready in no time. You will love this flavorful and cheesy ground beef and rice!

Tips For Storing And Reheating:

  • Storing: Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of water, milk, or broth to moisten things back up and keep it from drying out.

Can You Put Raw Ground Beef/hamburger In The Instant Pot Pressure Cooker

Yes and no. You can cook a whole block of ground beef in the Instant Pot under pressure on the trivet . When you do so, it allows the grease to drain below the trivet.

I would not cook ground beef in the pressure cooker with other ingredients in a recipe . If it has any fat content, it will make your cooked dish too greasy. You will want to brown it using the Sauté function or precook it under pressure in the Instant Pot.

Then you stir in some fresh basil and freshly grated Parmesan and it is just perfect.

The Best Instant Pot Hamburger Stroganoff

You guys! Im pretty sure I havent shared my exciting news with you that Ive been keeping a secret for like MONTHS! Ok, so its exciting for me at least, maybe not you! The story starts over this past year. Lets just say Ive been STRESSED to the max. Full time job, two kids and now three kids at home, a husband, a blog, life.you get the picture. I was BUSY. Real busy. And a little stressed ok a LOT stressed.

Id become a not very nice person to be around. I was cranky with the hubs, short with the kiddos and generally not real happy about anything. That could have been half blamed on the pregnancy not going to lie, but the other part was I was working ALL.THE.TIME. Id get done at my regular job, come home do the dinner and kids thing, then rush them off to bed and sit at the computer for 1-2 hours every night. On the weekends Id be making recipes, filming videos, scheduling pins, scheduling Facebook and shoving my kids out the door. It was not fun. I LOVE this blog but, well, something had to give.

Lets just say as much as I want to be superwoman Ive learned Im not. I tried to figure out how to add about 10 hours to a day and that didnt happen either. I was at a crossroads on what to do. Step back from the job? Step back from the blog? Continue to be stressed? Sell my children?

Ok, Im kidding. The latter one was not an option! But, in all seriousness I had to do something. The hubs kept telling me. I finally listened.

IM GOING PART TIME AT WORK!!!! WAHOOO!

How To Make Burgers In The Instant Pot

Instant Pot French Dip Sliders | Beef Shoulder Roast Recipe

STEP 1. Prepare the burgers.

In a mixing bowl, combine lean ground beef with seasoning blend. I like to use McCormick steak seasoning. Use what you love.

I made 5 thick burgers with 2 lbs of meat. You do the math on that one. Needless to say they were a very nice sized patty!

Keep your patties the same size for even cooking!

Add some raw onion slices on top of each burger, if desired. My family doesnt like onions, but it adds flavor during the cooking process .

Wrap each individual burger patty in foil, folding up the sides so that it is completely sealed.

STEP 2. Pressure Cook.

Add one cup of water to the 6qt Instant Pot . Place trivet in pot and stack patties in the pressure cooker.

Lock the lid in place and make sure the valve on top is set to SEALING.

Select HIGH PRESSURE for a cook time of 18 minutes. .

After the cook time is done, do a quick release of pressure with the valve.

Carefully remove each foil patty with a pair of tongs.

If you want cheeseburgers, immediately top the warm burgers with cheese allowing it to melt.

Step 1: Pour 1 cup or 1 ½ cups of water over the bottom of the Instant Pot, and then position in your trivet.

Step 2: Place 1-2 pounds of ground beef on the trivet, lock the lid, and seal the valve. Pro-Tip: If possible, freeze your meat in 1 inch thick slabs so that the meat will cook evenly in the instant pot.

Step 3: Set to high pressure and cook for 20-25 minutes, depending on if your frozen meat is flat or comes in a tube form. Let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes and then do a quick release.

Step 4: Check the temperature with a meat thermometer. It should reach 165 degrees F . If it is not, seal the pot again and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Step 5: Once the meat is cooked, remove the trivet and discard the liquid. Break the meat up into small chunks.

Step 6: Season and sauté the meat with a little bit of oil. Use it in many dishes such as hamburger helper, ground beef tacos, lasagne, and more.

Instant Pot Hamburger Helper

The cheesy, creamy Instant Pot Hamburger Helper is one of the simplest, most satisfying meals you can create on a busy night. Cooking it in the Instant Pot not only saves on dishes since its all cooked in one pot, but it also takes no time at all.

Homemade Hamburger Helper is one of the most comforting easy dinners. One of my favorite things about the Instant Pot is meals like this one. I can cook everything in one pot and it cuts down on the time I stand next to the stove significantly.

A few years ago, I shared my Skillet Cheeseburger Pasta recipe. I thought it would be a perfect recipe to recreate in the Instant Pot and make it even faster. The ingredients for this meal are my all time pantry and freezer staples already, so its a meal I can cook anytime I want something easy or didnt meal plan.

Sautéing the ground beef with onions and garlic is really easy, but that is the most time consuming part of the recipe, so you can imagine how ridiculously simple it is to put it together. The combination of the ground beef, aromatic onion and garlic, dry and fresh herbs and the cheesy pasta is so satisfying and hearty. Its like Macaroni and Cheese with beef, or homemade Hamburger Helper, but way better:).

How To Make Instant Pot Hamburgers

Instant Pot Hamburger Soup

You can either use pre-made patties or make your own using minced meat. I normally make my own as I find it much healthier using high-quality meat, and season the patties the way I like.

I like to add a diced onion to the meat, what are your favorite burger recipes?

Start by preparing the burger patties, and individually wrap each one of them in foil or parchment paper. I usually use 2 smaller pieces of foil to wrap the meat as the wrapping will be loose and will help the fat drip in the water.

If you like cheese and making your own patties, you can slide a thick slice of cheese in the middle of the patty. Those turn out so amazing!

Place the patties wrapped in foil on the trivet, add ½ cup of water to the bottom of the pot.

Set the valve on sealing position, then click on manual high pressure and cook for 10 minutes.

When the Instant Pot beeps and is done with cooking, do a quick release. Carefully open the lid, and take out the burger patties. If you wish to brown the meat, you can do so in the air fryer or just brown them under the broiler for 2-3 minutes.

Assemble the burgers with your favorite toppings and serve!

This is the Instant Pot that I use and love! Its a 6 quart IP, and I usually use it to cook 4 patties together, but you stack more and cook them together. If youre using the 8-quart then youll need to increase the amount of water to 1 cup.
