Okay, so healthy dinner recipes. I wanted to round up some gluten and dairy free dinner ideas, if youre dealing with something similar like me and need to reduce inflammation coming from food intolerances. These recipes wont exclude ALL of the things Im sensitive to, because its a lot just foods that have dairy and gluten. Im including the serving size, cooking time and calories. I hope you enjoy them.

Salmon And Asparagus Sheet Pan Meal

Here’s a solution to an easy gluten free dairy free dinner that pleases everyone: this baked salmon and asparagus recipe! Its simple, its elegant, but it tastes like something youd order at a restaurant. Roasting it up on a sheet pan with lemon slices and fresh herbs adds effortless flavor that feels fresh yet refined.

Baby Allergies And Intolerances

One of the first things health care professionals look at when a breastfed baby is extremely fussy or gassy is moms diet. Of course, babies can be fussy or gassy and not have an intolerance or allergy to something moms eating. Other important signs to look out for: rash, hives, eczema, sore bottom, dry skin wheezing or asthma congestion or cold-like symptoms red, itchy eyes ear infections irritability, fussiness, colic intestinal upsets, vomiting, constipation and/or diarrhea, or stools with mucus or blood. I should also note that sometimes the blood in the stool isnt visible. In my friends case the blood was microscopic, so they wouldnt have known if they hadnt had a diaper tested!

If a health care provider thinks your baby is suffering from cows milk protein intolerance or cows milk protein allergy , the typical recommendation is to start by cutting dairy out of the moms diet for a few months and seeing if that improves symptoms. Your health care provider may or may not recommend that you cut out soy at this time as well. After a few months they might recommend reintroducing again to see if the symptoms return or not. Most babies will grow out of the intolerance or allergy by the age of 3.

Days Of Gluten Dairy And Egg Free Comfort Food

Do you remember the days when it was easy to just walk into the kitchen and throw together a simple dinner or breakfast?

Do you remember the time before you had food allergies and intolerances in your familythe time when it was simple to plan meals and grocery shop?

Cooking seemed easier when you didnt have to consider each and every ingredient you put into your recipes. It used to be more fun. I believe that it can still be fun. I believe that you can enjoy amazing,easy recipes even when cooking for multiple food allergies.

Ive had to make many changes to my diet since Ive had children. My firstborn was and still is sensitive to gluten, so I was gluten free for several years. When my second son was born, he had issues with reflux, and that coupled with his laryngomalacia made me change my diet once again. I eliminated dairy, egg, soy, and corn in addition to gluten.

If you know what its like to be a nursing mother to a baby with reflux and food sensitivitiesif you know what its like to be a hungry nursing mother and have limited food choices because you are trying to keep your baby comfortable, these recipes are for you.

If you have little children with food allergies and sensitivities who want to eat fun kid foods like pizza and macaroni and cheesefoods that unless they are heavily modified, would not agree with their food restrictions, these recipes are for you.

So How Do You Make A Frittata Egg

  • Use garbanzo bean flour for the egg
  • Use rice milk instead of milk
  • Use nutritional yeast for that cheesy flavor
  • Fill the rest with your favorite vegetables, since those are naturally allergy-friendly!
  • I was sure to use lots of garlic and onion to really flavor these babies!

So easy, right? I made these while my son was at school and was just dying for him to get home and try them. My husband even had one with his dinner! So much for them lasting until the next morning. I wouldnt even mind these cold, but just keep them stored in an air tight container and reheat as needed!

And the best parttheres no nuts, for those who have nuts allergies. So many cheese substitutes are made of cashews and other nuts. So, I was thrilled that this did not need any kind of peanuts or tree nuts. Hooray for an allergy-friendly hot breakfast option! And, its naturally gluten-free too. WINNING!

Since we are not strictly vegan , and my son was not thrilled about having lots of spinach in his I think next time Ill try adding little pieces of cubed ham. This concept opens up a whole new world of possibilities for breakfast options! Hip, hip hooray for a hot breakfast idea that is allergy-friendly and free of the top-8-allergens!

Low Fodmap Khichdi Chicken And Rice

Love this recipe, it has fallen right in to my rotation. The chicken comes out great, browned on the outside without being dry on the inside. Only one pot to clean. I use homemade stock, brown rice, add whatever suitable extra veg I have, and toss in the tiniest pinch of cayenne to add a hint of heat. Lovely.

Is it possible? Is this meat-loving, dairy-loving mama going to share some Vegan recipes with you?

Well, funny story.

Twas the night before Christmas Eve, 2019, and my darling husband decided to watch a documentary. Why, Matt, why? You couldnt have just watched Elf??

But no. He watched the one about why we should probably not be eating as much or any meat, eggs, or dairy. The next day, he stood in the kitchen telling me about it you know while I was cooking seven pounds of hamburger meat in my Instant Pot and whipping cream for pies. Dude, you have got to be kidding me. No meat or dairy? Do you even know me at all?

But alas, the documentary had convinced him. Not that we should all go vegan . But he wondered if he might need to cut out animal products as an experiment to see if the change helped some of the minor health issues hed been experiencing.

I almost got mad . Its just that with two one-year-old babies toddling around and crawling on the floor eating food I hadnt found time to sweep up yet, and a 6-year old who constantly demands attention and needs a lot of re-training, and all the others and everything else plus a freezer full of MEAT I didnt know what to do with the words hed just spoken.

The Thing With Dairy And Gluten

Gluten and dairy are delicious, I know, lets not pretend. LikeI dream of crawling into a giant pita bread with cheese in it and eating my way out almost every night. But dairy and gluten can cause a lot of trouble for many people all over the world and most of us dont even know it! Like myself, I never really had digestive issues after eating bread with cheese, so I thought: Im good. Seems like I won the genetic lottery. Smart, beautiful, humble and can eat pizza without having to cut it out of her stomach.

Turns out, my sensitivity to gluten, dairy and about 20 other types of foods shows up in other symptoms. Like pains in my joints, my muscles, my headSo yeah, I did a test, that cost me a lot of real money, not crypto, some dignity and a broken vein. Im in the process of eliminating the 20+ foods they found I shouldnt eat. And by eliminating I mean, eating everything that I already have in my fridge and not buying them anymore. I need to come up with new recipes and I will record the best ones here then probably share the meal plan, because I cannot keep anything for myself, but actual food.

Where To Start

I know this shift can feel super overwhelming when youre just starting out. My top two recommendations for successfully switching your diet is to:

  • Educate yourself.
  • Change your mindset.
  • What do I mean by this? Changing your mindset is huge! Instead of thinking about everything you cant have, start thinking about all of the easy swaps you can make. Start looking through your regular meals, recipes and ingredients and see where soy and dairy are popping up. It can also be fun to look for new products to try that excite you. who knows, you might just find some new favorites.

    In terms of foods to watch out for, Ive included a couple lists below, but always double check packages and food labels because dairy and soy can be added to things you wouldnt expect. Its also important to realize that babies are reacting to the protein in cows milk, not the lactose. That said, lactose-free products wont be helpful. Another thing to be aware of is that vegan means the product is free of animal products , but many vegan foods have soy!
