This creamy, spreadable Vegan Butter requires only 6 simple ingredients and a blender. Spread it on toast, vegetables, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, and more! It also happens to be oil-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and gluten-free.

Though prepackaged vegan butter can be purchased at many grocery stores, it is always loaded with oil and fat which most whole food plant-based folks are avoiding. After all, we are trying to improve our health, right?

Thats why I decided to look around at healthy vegan butter options online, and I stumbled upon one made with cauliflower from Cooking With Plants. Their recipe called for psyllium husks which I didnt have and honestly didnt even know what it was, so I decided to mess around in the kitchen a bit with different ingredients.

How Do You Make Good Pizza Dough From Scratch

Making bread can feel overwhelming. There’s so many terms to learn and so many different ways to make the same thing.

Don’t ever let bread intimidate you! It’s not scary. Especially not this recipe.

First, we’re going to proof our yeast. I know, I know, the package says active yeast, why do we need to activate it?

Well the first thing is that some yeast can be already inactive when you buy it. It’s just like a bad batch. Or it could be too old.

Activating it first means you don’t have to waste all your ingredients! All proofing the yeast means is we’re putting it in a bowl or cup with the warm water and the sugar, mixing it up and letting it sit for 5-10 minutes.

If it starts to get foamy at the top, that means your yeast is active and ready to be dough!

So while the yeast proofs, measure out your flour.

How To Grill Plant

Grilling oil-free is much like roasting, sautéing, or cooking anything oil-free. It takes a little bit of practice, but then you will master how to impart delicious grill flavor without any added oils. Here are some simple steps for mastering oil-free grilling:

  • Preheat your grillfor a while.
  • It can take at least 10 minutes for grill grates to get hot. Be sure to give your grates plenty of time to get hot. Do this before you start prepping your veggies.
  • Prep your grilled food:
  • Chop your veggies, skewer kabobs, or slice up your pineapple. Whatever youre grilling, make sure you cut it into big enough pieces that it wont fall between the grates
  • Time to grill!
  • Spread your grilled foods on the grill. Be sure to leave enough room in between that you can use tongs to move and flip the food. Its better to grill in two batches than to overcrowd the grill
  • Dont Touch It.
  • Once your food hits the grill, leave it. Dont start moving it around, poking it, or squishing it. You want the good to create a sear with the grill grates, and this is best done by just leaving it be.
  • Time to Flip.
  • After 5-7 minutes, its usually time to flip your grilled foods. Check one piece first. It should easily pull away from the grill grates and should have some grill marks.
  • Rotate foods.
  • Pull of the grill.
  • Once the food is done cooking, time to pull it off the grill. If you have more foods to grill, put it on now.
