I Want A Mocha Frappuccino

And finally, if mocha frappes are more your thing, not a problem. Instead of pouring your mocha over ice, blend it with 1 1/2 cups of ice. I also recommend upping the sugar a bit. Since you are blending in ice, its going to be much less sweet than the over-ice version.

And pro tip: for extra goodness, swirl fudge sauce around the glass before pouring in the frappuccino. Its beautiful AND delicious.

How To Make The Chocolate Sauce At Home

Making chocolate sauce at home is super easy to do, and youll have a batch ready in just a few minutes.

The recipe for chocolate sauce listed below will make about ten servings of chocolate-flavored iced coffee. Youll need the following ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
  • 120 grams of white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of cold tap water

This is a basic chocolate sauce that goes with everything. If you want to spice it up, you can also add a bit of vanilla extract for a more powerful sauce. To make the sauce follow the next steps:

  • In a small saucepan, preferably with a handle, add the cocoa powder, white granulated sugar, and water.
  • Place it on the stove on medium heat.
  • Keep stirring the chocolate sauce until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce has thickened slightly. I found that this takes no more than two minutes.
  • After the sugar has dissolved, remove the pan from the heat.
  • Let the chocolate sauce cool slightly and store in an airtight container.
  • You can store the chocolate sauce in the refrigerator for a few days. Its best to make a big batch if you want to make a few of these iced coffees in the upcoming days.

Tip: If you have some leftover chocolate sauce, you can also make an Iced Mocha Latte.

The iced coffee recipe above uses the same chocolate sauce to make different recipes with this sweet sauce easily!

The Best Milk For Your Mocha

The key to a creamy, silky, smooth mocha is perfectly steamed and frothed milk. Were talking about the kind of milk that leaves a chocolatey moustache on your top lip after your first sip and warms your belly. Generally speaking the best milk to do this with is full cream, but a delicious mocha can still be created using low fat or dairy free alternatives. See our guide to latte art for detailed instructions on milk selection and frothing techniques.

How Does Cold Brew Coffee Taste Like

Standard coffee brewing tends to make coffee taste more bitter, because of the intense and rapid extraction of flavor from the beans by the hot water. Cold brew, on the other hand, takes around 18-24 hours. This slow infusion process pulls all the great coffee flavor from the beans and makes coffee taste less acidity, which is why cold brew coffee is naturally sweeter. Perfect for making iced coffee.

    Iced Mexican Coffee + Mochas

This iced Mexican mocha recipe is actually one from years ago here on LM. The recipe is so easy and so tasty that it needed an update and a reboot! While it isnt authentic, its my easy way to enjoy some of that delicious combination of chocolate and spices.

I dreamed up this iced Mexican coffee inspired drink for Día de Muertos back in 2015 . I was working with Zulka sugar and had a few week run of sugar-inspired recipes.

My husband had just started a job and I all too quickly inundated them with delicious, homemade goodies! I quickly had to settle back on my dessert making and stick with healthy veggie-focused salads so nobody revolted!

Im a purist when it comes to my iced coffee and cold brew. There are so many products and recipes that have flavors added, but I always go for the classic, adding the sweetness and milk on my own. Rarely do I venture into the minty, salty, caramely varieties.

This Iced Mexican Coffee is just the perfect spin on my classic drink, however, that I will make an exception at home!

Most of the flavor comes from the spices, which the foodie in me loves. And I always have all of the ingredients on hand, so I can whip it up whenever I need to kick up the flavor of my coffee. Its also a great recipe for any Mexican holiday parties, including Cinco de Mayo and Día de los Muertos festivities.

How To Make This Recipe Vegan

Iced Cocoa Mocha Latte Recipe |Dunkin Copycat

This recipe can easily be made vegan. Simply replace the milk in both the chocolate syrup recipe and in the iced mocha with your favorite non dairy milk option. I am a big fan of oat milk because I think it has the most neutral flavor. Also check to make sure you are using vegan chocolate for the syrup. Most dark chocolates that are 70% cacao or more are vegan.

    • Think of it as an investmentby spending $8 on a bag of coffee instead of $5, you are investing in the planet, plus the health, happiness, and economic security of another human being.
    • When shopping, instead of asking why is this so expensive? ask what makes that other product so cheap?you might find pollution, unfair wages, and child labor lurking right under the surface.

    Why This Recipe Works

    Iced Mocha

This mocha recipe is completely vegan AND it’s double chocolate. What’s not to love! I was inspired by the Starbucks iced mocha and wanted to make a homemade version. It’s shaken, just like most Starbucks drinks are and so delicious!

    • It’s cheaper than Starbucks and you don’t have to change out of your PJs to go get it.
    • The recipe is really easy to alter – You can make it with extra strong brewed coffee or decaf, sugar-free or with extra sweet, and vegan or regular. All up to you!

First Lets Talk About The Elephant In The Roomis Drinking Coffee Even Ethical

Coffee is a staple of most peoples mornings, but have you ever thought about what goes into getting that coffee into your cup?

The cold, hard truth is that purchasing a typical bag of coffee isnt fair to farmers, producers, or our planet. Here are some facts that just might blow your mind:

    • The coffee industry generates more than $200 billion per year, but the average coffee farmers income has stayed flat or even declined over the past 20 years.
    • Nearly 61 percent of coffee producers are forced to sell their coffee at prices below the cost of production.
    • Coffee requires a very specific range of temperature and humidity to thrive. Because of climate change, it is estimated that by 2050, the amount of land that can sustain coffee will have fallen by 50%.
    • Because the price of coffee continues to be low, many farmers dont have the resources to farm sustainably, let alone adapt to the climate change crisis. The reality is that unless there is a collective global shift to better support coffee farmers through Fairtrade, we will all be left with empty cups.

Why Is Chocolate Flavoured Coffee Called Mocha

The term mocha comes from the place Al Mokha , a port city on Yemens south-western coast. The port was one of the worlds first international hubs for coffee bean exportation. Yemens dark aromatic beans were known for their rich taste of cacao and so the association between mocha, coffee and chocolate began.

  • S To Make An Iced Mocha From Scratch:

  • First, make the chocolate sauce by combining the water, sugar, honey, cocoa powder, cinnamon and cayenne pepper in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over low heat while constantly whisking. It will take some time for the cocoa powder to totally dissolve in the heat. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Store covered in the fridge.
  • When the chocolate sauce is chilled, youre ready to make an iced mocha! Pour 1/4 cup of chocolate sauce in the bottom of each glass.

We should probably talk about the beautiful chocolate rim on the glasses, right? To make it, I pour some of the chocolate sauce into a shallow dish, and then I quickly dunk the rim of each glass in it. Then, I gently dip part of the glass edge into a bowl with extra cinnamon and cayennenot too much, or it will be very spicy! When I flip the glass right-side up, the extra chocolate sauce drips down the side.
