Furthermore, most foods on this diet are low in calories, except for nuts, seeds, avocados, and oils. Therefore, even if you ate a large volume of approved foods, its unlikely that doing so would result in a surplus of calories and lead to weight gain.
However, very low calorie diets usually cannot be maintained in the long term. Most people who follow these diets regain the weight once they resume a normal eating pattern .
Since this diet doesnt specify quantities and portions, its difficult to say whether it will provide enough calories for sustainable weight loss.
The Dr. Sebi diet isnt designed for weight loss but is very low in calories and limits processed food. Therefore, you may lose some weight if you follow this diet.
What Does Dr Sebi Say About Vitamin B12
To be clear, Dr. Sebi didnt really recommend for vitamins to be taken. Instead he advocated that what the body really needs is minerals from healthy natural and alkaline sources.
That said, because my opinion is influenced by Dr. Sebis teachings, I personally believe that we need more minerals than vitamins and if indeed we can get our bodies fortified with all required minerals, we wont have much to worry about our health.
So, in all, Dr. Sebi did not emphasise the importance of B12 and didnt advocate taking B12 supplements.
