This Quick And Easy Italian Sausage Pasta With Vegetables Is Packed With Flavor Its Done In 15 Minutes And Costs $10 For Six Servings

This Italian Sausage Pasta dish is my go-to recipe when I want to get good food on the table fast with minimal work.

Including prep time, it only takes about 15 minutes to whip this up, and its one of those recipes that works with whatever vegetables you happen to have on hand.

Get our delicious recipes, latest posts and exclusive content delivered straight to your inbox.

My official recipe calls for red onion, asparagus and mushrooms, but Ive also made it with squash and tomatoes and broccoli, in all kinds of combinations. I usually just use whatever veggies I have or whatever is in season.

As long as you have the main ingredients Barilla pasta and Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage youre well on your way to a tasty, quick and inexpensive dinner.

I like to stock up on both at Kroger, so I always have them on-hand in the pantry and the fridge.

I love using Johnsonville sausage in place of ground beef in lasagna and spaghetti, and its the not-so-secret ingredient in my sweet and spicy homemade chili. And Barilla pasta is so versatile, not just for Italian dishes, but for soups, sides and quick kid lunches, as well.

I should also mention that this is a very budget-friendly recipe. It costs just $10 to make and youll have enough for at least six servings.

This sausage and rice recipe reheats well and will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days. I recommend reheating this dish in a skillet with a tablespoon or two of water or broth, just to keep the rice from drying out.

Make sure youre using low-sodium chicken broth for this recipe, as Italian sausage often contains salt as well. And definitely taste this dish before adding extra salt and pepper at the end since its naturally salty already!

Why Should I Make My Own Ground Sausage

Johnsonville Ground Italian Sausage Chili :15 1×1

You have FULL control over what is in it. And what is not. If youre grinding your own meat you also have direct control over the quality of the meat itself as well as the ratio of muscle meat to fat. And then of course there are the seasonings: Most store-bought sausage contains things like corn syrup, MSG and that ever cryptic ingredient flavorings which could mean practically anything.

Making your own sausage is an empowering way of maintaining control over what you consume. And it tastes a whole lot better, too!

Can I Use Ground Pork Or Do I Have To Grind The Meat Myself

You can do either. The easiest option is to buy quality ground pork and simply add the seasonings.

If you prefer to have full control over the quality of meat and the muscle-to-fat ratio you can grind your own.

We use and recommend the STX International Turbo Force Electric Meat Grinder. It comes with a 3-year warranty, great reviews, and is all around the best value for the money. If youre making occasional small amounts the KitchenAid Meat Grinder Attachment is another option.

    Southern Sausage Spaghetti Sauce

Southern Sausage Spaghetti Sauce is thick and full of ground Italian sausage with plenty of tomato flavor. Its basically a sausage version of this Southern Spaghetti Sauce recipe which is one of the most popular recipes on Spicy Southern Kitchen. I love the extra flavor that sausage gives this sauce.

Spaghetti is always a family favorite and such an economical meal to put on the table so its nice to do variations of it so you can serve it frequently without anyone getting tired of it.

When I use ground sausage in my recipes, I always use Johnsonville Sausage. I love that you can buy it ground without the casings. You know as well as I do that its no fun to try and take sausage out of the casings.

Johnsonville Ground Italian Sausage comes in 3 flavors: Mild, Sweet, and Hot. Since the sausage is already seasoned, theres no need to add much seasoning to your recipe. That can really help you put a quick weeknight meal on the table.

For this Southern Sausage Spaghetti Sauce any of the flavors of ground sausage is delicious, so it just depends on what kind of flavor you want. I typically use the Mild, but Hot is great for when you want a meal with a little heat.

This sauce freezes really well so you can make a double batch and freeze half of it.

Italian Sausage And Pasta In A Cream Basil Sauce

Italian Sausage and Pasta in a Cream Basil Sauce is a creamy, cheesy and savory main dish that can be on the dinner table in 30 minutes!

Italian Sausage and Pasta in a Cream Basil Sauce. AllRecipes.com has teamed up with Johnsonville Sausages this month, and as an AllRecipes Allstar, I have been asked to make a few recipes from the collection of Johnsonvilles sponsored recipes on AllRecipes.

I decided on their Bow Ties with Italian Sausage in a Cream Basil Sauce recipe for one of our weeknight dinners and adapted it slightly for our preference and for ingredients I had on-hand. I used the Johnsonville® Mild Ground Italian Sausage instead of the Johnsonville® Italian Sweet Sausage Links because I had it on hand, but either one would work. The recipe already had dozens of rave reviews online so I was excited to try it.

It was so easy. Prepare the pasta according to package directions. Brown the sausage in a skillet. Sprinkle with a little crushed red pepper and cook until sausage is no longer pink. Add the onion and garlic and saute. Stir in chopped tomatoes, and salt. Cook for about three minutes. Pour in the half and half, cream and parmesan. Stir on low until thickened. Stir in the cooked pasta and basil. Sprinkle on the mozzarella. Done!

This recipe has it all. In addition to tasting fantastic, it is quick and easy to prepare, which makes any weeknight dinner a breeze. Try it and your family will be impressed and their tummies will be very happy.
