Yes!! And you can actually freeze them before OR after you bake them.

To freeze the dough, scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Place in the freezer overnight. Then, place the dough balls into a freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months.

You can also freeze them once they’re baked. Let them cool completely, then place into a freezer bag, let as much air out as possible, and freeze.

  • Properly measure your ingredients. Weighing your ingredients with a kitchen scale vs using cup measurements is the only way to ensure that your cookies turn out perfect every time. It is SO EASY to over pack the flour when scooping it out with a measuring cup. If you dont have a kitchen scale, be sure to spoon and level your flour rather than scooping it out of the bag with the measuring cup which will likely result in using too much flour and therefore a cakey cookie that doesnt spread.
  • Dont skip the chill. I am well aware that letting your dough chill is BRUTAL especially overnight, But trust me when I say that I wouldnt recommend it if it wasnt necessary. It allows the flour and sugars to be fully absorbed and results in a cookie with balanced deep flavors and chewy texture.
  • Make sure that your oven is properly calibrated. I tested these cookies at several bake temps and ultimately found that 350 was best. Unfortunately, most of our oven temperatures can be off. But, this is easily fixed by using an oven thermometer which you can find on Amazon for $5-10. If your oven temp is too low, the cookies wont spread much at all and the center will be raw. If its too hot, theyll spread to quickly, become too brown around the edges, AND have a center thats barely cooked through.

I wanted to really take all the parts that I love about an Oreo cookie and make it into a soft cookie. Im a filling girl, so chopping up the cookies and including white chocolate chips is a master pairing!

The chocolate cookies on their own are perfection, but adding in the crunchy chopped Oreos makes these extra chocolatey and also gives them a great texture. The Oreos dont stay crunchy after they bake into the cookies, but leave behind a deep chocolate flavor as well as a dense, chewy texture!

How These Came To Be

I was working on another recipe that in theory should have been incredibly easy and incredibly delicious. But as I was photographing it, I finally had to admit to myself that it just hadnt turned out as Id hoped. And that wasnt OK with me.

I think as I was working on it throughout the day I was slowly coming to that realization. My mind had been starting to wander towards things that make me think of summer. Especially my favorite summer desserts.

Cookie n cream was a constant in my head. Something about those chocolate cookies makes me think of summertime as a kid. Sneaking inside for a cookie out of the cupboard while playing outside. Or begging mom to stop at DQ for cookies n cream blizzards. Im not sure exactly what it is, but cookies n cream reminds me of carefree summer days.

So, at the very end of the day, as I was shooting the recipe I just wasnt excited about, I stopped and I made these instead. It was one of those last-minute decisions that turned out to be very, very good.

How To Make The Best Cookies And Cream Cookies:

After trying out multiple cookie recipes over many years, I have picked up several important tips for making the absolute BEST cookies!

    I smirked as I wrote out the title of this post because it does sound a bit redundant. How else could you describe this new recipe? 🙂 These Cookies and Cream cut-out cookies are a mash-up of 3 of my favorite things: Oreos, cream cheese, and a cut-out cookie that can hold it’s shape. They also are super delicious!

    Each bite of these Cookies and Cream cut-out cookies is filled with tiny crumbs of Oreo cookies. The addition of cream cheese provides a nice creamy texture with a punch of rich flavor, as well. As a base for decorated cookies, these cookies also hold their shape really well with barely any signs of spread.

    Crumbl Cookies and Cream Milkshake Cookie Recipe

    For this recipe, you will want to use cold butter instead of the usual room temperature. Cube the cold butter into small pieces, about ½ to 1 inch in size. Add cold butter pieces, granulated sugar, and firmly packed brown sugar to a large bowl. You can use a hand mixer or a stand mixer for this recipe. If using a stand mixer, use the paddle attachment. Cream the butter and sugars on high for approximately 3 minutes. This will take some time and will be clumpy at first, keep beating until it is cohesive. It will not be smooth and will still be lumpy.

    Chewy Cookies And Cream Cookies

    These chewy cookies and cream cookies are soft, chewy, with crushed Oreos in every bite. Its one of my favorite cookies to make for parties and bake sales.

    Recently the Oreo cookie celebrated its 100th Anniversary. I had no idea the cookie had been around so long. Its quite impressive given how popular the cookie still is. Of course my mind has been on oreos and I wanted to make some recipes.

    So I made these cookies and cream cookies. They came out exactly how I had hoped.

    These were really easy to make. And I love the look of the oreo cookie pieces throughout. This is one of my favorite oreo recipes Ive made to date.

    Why Are My Cookies And Cream Cookies Crispy And Hard

    COOKIES AND CREAM COOKIES

    If your cookies are hard, crunchy or crispy, you probably baked them too long. Cookies will continue to bake for a couple of minutes on the hot cookie sheet even after you remove them from the oven, so you dont want to wait until they are golden brown before taking them out! My husband really likes a few cookies to be a little more well-done so that he can dip them in milk, so I usually make half a tray of cookies for him that get cooked a couple minutes longer.

    Most of my cookies are baked until barely done. I dont even wait for the tops to start turning golden brown, but look at the edges on the bottom of the cookies. If the edges look like they are turning a little bit golden brown, theyre done! You dont want the centers of the cookies to look doughy, but they shouldnt be even slightly brown on top either.

    What Are Cake Mix Cookies

    Cake mix cookies are a shortcut cookie made from using a store bought cake mix instead of regular dry ingredients.

    Using just a few more ingredients, you can transform any flavor of cake mix into a soft delicious cookie.

    The fun comes when you start deciding what extra ingredients you want to add to the cookie. Here is a list of some of our favorite mix-ins:

    • Candy – M& M’s, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Butterfingers, Bunch a Crunch, Reese’s Pieces, Peppermint Patties, Rolos
    • Dried Fruit – cherries, blueberries, cranberries, shredded coconut
    • Cookies – Oreos, Nutter Butters, Chips Ahoy, Animal Crackers
    • Chocolate Chips – white chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter, mint, peppermint
    • Extras– Sprinkles, Nuts, Maraschino Cherries

    Cookies & Cream Cookies: Power Ingredients

    A few ingredients add to their signature flavor and texture. Heres how:

    • Cornstarch: I love adding a touch of cornstarch to chocolate chip cookies because it helps create a softer, thicker cookie. Same story here.
    • Cream Cheese: Like I mention above, I use more cream cheese in this recipe than the cookbook version. I wanted a more noticeable cream cheese flavor and a creamier texture, too one that exceeds the texture of my cream cheese sugar cookies.
    • Butter: Room temperature butter, along with cream cheese, is the base of this cookie recipe. You can soften butter quickly with this trick.
    • Granulated & Brown Sugar: Sugar is not only used for sweetness, but for providing structure and tenderness too. Granulated sugar helps the cookies spread, and brown sugar keeps the cookies soft.
    • White Chocolate Chips: White chocolate chips add a similar sweet cream flavor thats found in the Oreo cookies. If you dont have white chocolate chips or dont want to use them, semi-sweet, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or even peanut butter chips work instead. Or skip them altogether and add more Oreos.
    • Oreo Cookies: To prevent the cookie dough from turning gray as a result of all the Oreos, keep the chunks of Oreo cookies on the larger side. And I actually broke them up by hand instead of using a knifefewer crumbs, more chunks!

    Gideons Cookies And Cream Cookies

    Im back with another Gideons Bakehouse copycat recipe their cult favorite Cookies and Cream. These cookies are just as giant, indulgent, and over the top as the original chocolate chip version, but instead of being packed with chocolate chips, theyve got an entire package of Double Stuf Oreo cookies and intense vanilla bean flavor.

    Do Not Overbake These Cookies

    I do have to give my PSA: these cookies do not remain soft and chewy if overbaked. Mine always take about 10-11 minutes, and anything longer than that yields lots of crunch. You want the edges to juuuuust start to set.

    In these perfectly baked cookies, some of the Oreos stay crunchy while others, more so the ones in the center of the cookie, get soft with melty Oreo filling.

    So many textures, lots of flavor, and plenty of room for holiday jazziness.

    How Do You Crush Oreo Cookies

    The Oreo cookies should not be crushed too much because you want to make sure to have large chunks of Oreos in the cookies. My favorite way to crush the Oreos is by placing them in a Ziplock bag and then smashing them with a meat mallet or a rolling pin. This method gives you more control over how finely the Oreos are crushed.

    You can also use a blender or food processor to crush Oreos but make sure to pulse the Oreos for only a quick second at a time to make sure that you dont over blend. This method is wonderful if you want to make fine crumbs for an Oreo crust, but is a little trickier when you want larger pieces of cookie.

    How Do You Soften Butter To Room Temperature

    The best way to soften butter is to set it out for a few hours before you make your cookies. Since most of us arent that prepared or dont think that far in advance, there are a few tricks to softening butter perfectly in just a matter of minutes. My favorite way to soften butter is in the microwave. Its definitely fast, but you do have to be very careful not to melt it. Just put the whole stick of butter in the microwave and microwave for about 6-7 seconds. If the butter is still really cold, try another 5-7 seconds and check it again. You may need a few intervals, and if the butter is starting to feel soft, you can shorten the final interval to just a few seconds to make sure it doesnt start melting.

    I actually prefer to use the defrost setting on my microwave I dont know exactly what that mode does differently, and it takes a little bit longer , but it seems to be easier to get the butter to soften without melting.
