Crown Royal Washington Apple Recipe

The Washington Apple cocktail is often made with Crown Royal Whiskey, a well-known Canadian whiskey. You dont have to use the Crown Royal brand. If you dont have Crown Royal on hand, other brands like Weller would be a good choice.

As a personal rule, if I am mixing a cocktail with lots of ingredients, I use less expensive brands because you wont get all of the nuances of flavor a more premier brand may have.

Is Apple Pucker The Same As Apple Schnapps

Sour apple pucker is a an apple schnapps made from the brand Dekuyper. A schnapps is a sweetened liqueur that became popular in North America. Schnapps come in various fruit flavors. Dekuyper created the line of pucker schnapps that puts a sweet and sour twist on the traditional sweet fruit schnapps.

Watermelon Pucker Schnapps is another popular flavor that mirrors the sweet and sour flavor of the apple schnapps. The alcohol in Schnapps is a fruit liqueur that only has 15% ABV. Schnapps are most commonly used for making mixed drinks with other alcohols. Schnapps can be drank straight or over ice however, they are very sweet and are usually best when mixed with other liquids.

The first wedding I ever went to was at age 16.

It was not the one where I had towatch Nudes on Ice with my parentsit was actually worse.

This one may also explain why I was never in any rush to get married.

My mother spent the whole time telling me over and over this is not what weddings are like, this is not what weddings are like, and your wedding will NOT be like this.

It was a second cousin or something.

It was in a bar in Laughlin, NV.

She also removed her bra during the ceremony because a bar nut fell down there and she couldnt get it out.

She never put her bra back on.

My parents and I did not get the memo that we were to come to the DAY wedding already drunk.

Everyone but the brides mom and my parents and I, drank booze during the ceremony.

When they got to the part where the pastor said something about God, the father of the bride stood up and said God? What the f#ck does God have to do with any of this?

The Washington Apple Cocktail Recipe Yes Its Apple

I love the simplicity of the fall flavors in this drink, apple and whisky, add a little dry ice or use a cold smoker to give it that straight from the cauldron feel and enjoy as a Halloween cocktail.

For this recipe, theres so much happening and with just a few ingredients, my kind of cocktail! The Washington Apple is traditionally made with Crown Royal Canadian whisky, but theres a couple of ways to make this easy drink, so Ill share both versions in the recipe card below.

Then The Real Fun Began

I dont remember what food we had.

I do remember everyone that was not my parents trying to give me a drink and I just wanted a pop.

If I ordered a Coke it came back as rum and Coke and not the watered down kind.

Finally get my parents to just go get me a plain old Coke.

I was not seated with my parents I was at the kids table.

The youngest by far with everyone else in their early 20s.

Most of them were like second cousins and their dates kind of thing.

I said no.

He told me I was a party pooper.

I said I am 16 and pretty sure Im your cousin.

Again, I was told I was a party pooperI guess he figured I was a second cousin.

Eww.

The woman next to me was nice enough to flash hers for the camera to make him go away.

She then began to strike up a conversation with memostly about boys.

Turns out that she was a Penthouse Pet, and that explained a lot.

She seemed disappointed with the fact I had only had 2 boyfriends so far and offered up advice.

I said sure because I was 16 and wanted a boyfriend.

Did You Know This Drink Can Be Enjoyed In Many Different Ways

You control the amount of alcohol depending on how you choose to make the drink. A shooter or a martini is stronger than a drink with ice. If you want to you could add a bit of club soda or some Sprite with the drink.

This classic whiskey cocktail can be enjoyed:

If you want to enjoy this as a martini simply pour the drink into a chilled martini glass. This will make multiple shooters if desired. My personal preference is to pour the drink over ice, sometimes I had a touch of club soda for a little fizz.

This apple shot can be made into a drink by increasing the ingredient quantities and serving in a martini glass or over ice in a highball glass.

For a martini glass, use 2 ounces of whisky, schnapps, and 3 ounces of juice.

If you serve in a highball glass, be sure to add a little extra cranberry juice to taste.

Todays #boozeontheshelf Cocktail Is Nowhere Near A Rum And Coke But Oh So Good

I had gone to an event where they only had two signature cocktails.

The one had blueberry or something I was allergic to and the other was whiskey.

Normally I would have passed but I was provided transportation to my house and open bar plus ride home equals Peabody drinking.

It was called a Washington Apple Cocktail which is pretty much the state drinkthat I have never had before in my life.

I was prepared to hate it.

Instead I threw back way too many and told my husband that we needed to start making them at home.

The regular one is whiskey, apple schnapps, and cranberry juice and a splash of lime.

I used Crown Royal Apple Whiskey, Sour Apple Pucker, and Cran-Apple juiceand a splash of lime to make my Washington Apple Cocktail.

Even better in my opinion.

I absolutely have fallen in love with these canned cocktails but with gas prices and such I cant afford to buy these as often as I like. Does anyone have a recipe that is cheaper to drink and get smashed too?

Sure do. You’re in luck.

Washington Apples is an actual cocktail, and that canned drink you’ve been drinking is just a mass-produced approximation of it.

Washington Apples drink recipe:

1 oz sour apple schnapps1 oz cranberry juice

shake over ice and strain into a coupe, garnish with an apple slice

–this isn’t really a fancy drink, though, so you can also totally just combine the three ingredients in equal parts in a glass with ice and chug that.

My advice for saving money is to buy a cheaper canadian whiskey than crown royal. I love Canadian Club, but Rich & Rare, Canadian Mist, Lord Calvert… these also work.

…now, if you really want to make this drink *good* leave out the sour apple schnapps, infuse the whiskey with three or four tasty apples and a couple of cinnamon sticks for a week or two, and mix it with honey, a little fresh lime juice, and whatever else you feel like. Cranberry juice works. This will also be cheaper in the long run, as well. In fact, I might buy two handles of canadian whiskey and start infusing the second one.
