Too Darn Busy: Put a block of frozen spinach in a colander and set it in a bowl to catch the juice. Place a piece of plastic wrap over the top and set it in the fridge to thaw overnight or as you go about your day.

Stuff To Do: Run frozen spinach under cool water using a finer-grade strainer. Set the strainer in a bowl on the counter and allow it to drain, shaking it off every once.

Gotta Have It: Lightly rinse the ice off of the spinach block and put it in a large microwave-safe bowl. Set your microwave to defrost and stir/break apart the spinach every 45-60 seconds to avoid hot spots.

How Long Does Spinach Dip Last In The Fridge

3-4 days. Cold spinach dip can be refrigerated in a sealed container, or covered in plastic wrap or foil. If you made your spinach dip in a bread bowl, the bread will get soggy and stale the longer it sits. The sour cream in your dip will tend to separate and get watery in the refrigerator, so most any spinach dip recipe is best enjoyed fresh.

How Long Will Spinach Dip Last

This dip will last for about a week in the refrigerator, but it goes watery fast thanks to those water chestnuts and spinach, so try to eat it within a day or two. I also wouldnt recommend freezing it as Im not a big fan of freezing recipes that are heavy in dairy as they tend to go runny and watery once theyve thawed. It would still be safe to eat but Im not sure youd want to eat it! If youre not certain that youll use up a whole batch, just make a half batch to be on the safe side.

So who else has eaten this recipe growing up? I mean really, how many times have you eaten this in your life? 30? 40 times? This is THE spinach dip recipe!

Im not sure if potlucks are popular everywhere, but in the circles I grew up in, they were a regular part of life. Church functions, family reunions, Super Bowl parties, even some cookouts were done in traditional potluck style, with guests each contributing a dish. Its the perfect solution to feed a crowd. Plus, it gives everyone a veritable feast without putting all the work on a single host.

Im so thankful that even today the potluck is a big part of my life. We have one at least once a month and they are one of my favorite things.
