You can use any shaped cutters you like, but I couldnt resist buying these dog bone cutters! This is the set I use:

The larger pink bone cutter is the size I used, which measures around 6cm long. The biscuits take around 10-11 minutes to bake using this size cutter if you use a smaller cutter, reduce the bake time by a few minutes, and increase the bake time when using larger cutters!

Just keep a watch on the colour of the biscuits once they look like they are browning slightly on the tops and edges as shown below, they should be done!

Looking for homemade dog treats without pumpkin? These banana oat dog treats are really good. I have tasted them, so I can say that honestly. The best part about making dog treats yourself is knowing exactly what is in them.

Luckily for me, my dog doesnt have any allergies to food, so I dont have to be concerned with that, but if your dog does, that is something you have to look at in their treats and food.

This dog treat dough is very easy to work with!

Knowing what is in their treats because you made them yourself takes away any concerns of recalls on products for contaminations and worries about what is in their food that might not be very good for them.

The combination of banana and peanut butter smells amazing while it is in the oven, so dont be surprised if your dog starts lingering around the kitchen.

Dogs love peanut butter and banana flavors, so these treats are destined to be on their list of favorites. The herbs included in this peanut butter banana dog treat recipe, and others such as parsley, mint, dill and cilantro either fresh or dried can help keep your pups breath fresh.

We have two cautions about using peanut butter in treats. The first is that treats with peanut butter tend to be high in fat and calories, so deal them out in moderation. Second, but most importantly, check the ingredient list on your favorite brand of peanut butter. Some manufacturers have included xylitol as a sugar substitute because it has a low glycemic index for humans. But xylitol is a deadly toxin for dogs, so please make sure it doesnt accidentally make its way into your dogs treats.

With only 6 ingredients, these treats are exceptionally easy to make, and theyll have your dogs lining up to be official taste testers. These treats were tested & enthusiastically approved by all the CometDogU staff dogs who wanted us to ignore the recommendation to deal them out in moderation.

These simple and easy to make Peanut Butter Banana Yogurt Dog Treats are a great way for your pup to cool down! Budget-friendly and healthy for your dog.

Our poor little dog, Pearl, has to smell the wonderful things we cook all the time. It must be torture to have all those wonderful smells penetrating your nasal cavities knowing that you wont get any.

Yes, life for Pearl is pretty tough. You should definitely feel bad for her.

Sometimes she even has to go on trips with us and stay at nice hotels, or ring in the New Year on the Queen Mary.

Like a good mom, I cant talk about her without showing a baby photo. Just look at that lil face!

Because shes such a good girl despite having it so rough, I thought she deserved some Cooking With Janica recipes too.

I like to keep dog treat recipes very simple. This is one of my favorites as it has only 3 ingredients.

How To Make Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats

Oatmeal, Peanut Butter & Banana Dog Treats Recipe

This recipe is truly simple. It’s incredibly easy, quick, and can be done in one bowl.

I prefer to use an overripe banana, like I do in my banana recipes for humans.

It’s easiest to just mash the banana in the mixing bowl that you’re using to mix everything then add the oats and peanut butter.

In the “How to” video on this page, I mashed up the banana in a separate bowl. Then, I threw the oats, banana, and peanut butter in the main mixing bowl. This was to show each ingredient.

Both ways work. The order of ingredients does not matter in this recipe.

    For This Recipe You Need:

    • Banana: To make this recipe, use a very ripe banana that can mash well
    • Peanut Butter: I prefer to use crunchy PB over creamy, but it is really up to you and what you have in your pantry! Make absolutely sure that your peanut butter label says JUST peanuts and has no xylitol or other ingredients in it
    • Oat Flour: you can either use store bought oat flour or you can take rolled oats and place them in the food processor and blend until a flour forms. If you make your own oat flour, it does tend to be a bit thicker than store bought oat flour, so you will want to start with 1 ½ cups for the recipe before adding any additional flour. Oats are a great source of fiber and protein for dogs
    • Cinnamon: this is an optional ingredient, but can help regulate a dogs blood sugar. I only added a little sprinkle
    • Eggs: I like to use pasture raised eggs like Vital Farms. I would keep an eye on the egg label and make sure there are no added hormones and that the eggs are ideally cage free

    What Kind Of Peanut Butter

It is incredibly important to use a peanut butter that does NOT contain xylitol. NO XYLITOL.

According to VCA Animal Hospital, Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs. Even small amounts of xylitol can cause hypoglycemia , seizures, liver failure, or even death in dogs.”

I like to use Skippys Natural Peanut Butter. It does not contain xylitol. It tastes great . And, it doesnt separate like other natural peanut butters.

    Can Dogs Have Flour

In short, yes. But flour can post an allergy to some dogs, and flour is certainly not a necessity in their diet, but rather is used as a binding agent in many treat recipes.

If possible, I recommend using Almond flour, because its healthy and easy to find at the grocery store.
