How To Make A Pumpkin Spice White Russian Drink:

Pre-Steps:

If you wish to coat the rim of your glass with sugar, do that before you begin to make the drink.

To do so, pour a small amount of simple syrup on a small plate.

On another small plate, pour a small amount of brown sugar or cinnamon sugar.

Turn the glass upside down and dip the edge first into the syrup and then into the sugar of your choice.

Then fill your cocktail glasses with ice so they will begin to cool before making the drink.

How To Make A Flavored White Russian

This classic cocktail is easy to update by adding a little seasonal flavor. The recipe calls for cream, but you can substitute a flavored coffee creamer to enhance the drink. Try pumpkin spice or peppermint for a holiday drink. Or use hazelnut, vanilla or cocoa for a year round flavored white russian.

You could also make your own flavored cream. Combine cream or half and half with a coffee syrup or a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Mix well then use in your drink.

The simple recipe below calls for pumpkin spice coffee creamer, which is only available seasonally. Its something to look forward to and use in your drinks and desserts while its out.

  • Fill a rocks glass with ice.
  • Pour in kahlua and vodka and stir.
  • Top with pumpkin spice creamer. Let this layer sit on top or stir to combine all the ingredients.
  • Sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice and add a cinnamon stick to garnish.

    Pumpkin Spice White Russian Cocktail

White Russians were the first cocktail I fell in love with in my twenties. It was probably the fact that they tasted more like an iced coffee than anything else that made me love them so much. That, and maybe that the recipe is so easy!

Last week I made myself a little fall-themed Pumpkin Spice White Russian using my Pumpkin Spice Creamer to replace the cream in the traditional recipe and it was delicious! I thought you might enjoy the recipe too!

How To Make The Best Fall Cocktail: A Pumpkin Spice White Russian

While Im not a huge fan of cocktails, I do love making them for special occasions.

And this one is perfect for a fall dinner or Halloween party.

Im even thinking of making this White Russian fall cocktail for Thanksgiving this year because it is a real crowd pleaser.

Theres just something about a specialty drink at a dinner party that makes the evening seem more special, am I right?

From the sweet and spicy rim of the glass, to the creamy cocktail beverage, this one is sure to keep you toasty on a crisp fall evening.

Its pretty strong too, so a little goes a long way.

This fall cocktail is so easy to make and looks like you put hours into preparing it!

If you want to sweeten this recipe up, try using caramel and crushed graham crackers on the rim instead of honey and ginger snaps.

Ive made it both ways and prefer the spice of the ginger snaps with the lighter sweet taste of the honey.

And let me tell you that the type of ginger snap cookies you use matters.

Some ginger snap recipes are spicier and have a softer texture than others.

So make sure you taste test those ginger snaps well ahead of time. hahaha.

I prefer a spicier, softer textured cookie for the rim.

But its all a matter of personal preference.

Some also like to use a pumpkin pie spice creamer instead of heavy cream, but for me its a little too sweet so I prefer using heavy cream or half and half.

And if you want a lower calorie or lactose free option, you can make this fall cocktail with almond creamer.

What Spices Are In Pumpkin Spice

Aptly named, pumpkin spice is the primary flavoring used when baking pumpkin pie. It contains the tasting notes we all know and associate with any pumpkin dessert . If you do not have this spice mixture on hand, it is very easy to replicate.

To make your own pumpkin pie spice, combine:

    • 1 part ground cinnamon
    • One half part nutmeg
    • Small pinch of cloves

Different Ways To Serve This Pumpkin Spice White Russian

Pumpkin-Spiced White Russian | Drink Recipe

You can serve this cocktail mixed together or unmixed like the picture above. Pouring the pumpkin spice creamer into the liqueur and leaving it unmixed makes a beautiful drink. However, you may get a sweet top and a strong bottom.

The best way to serve is by shaking all the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker. This will ensure the top isnt too sweet and the bottom too strong. It will mix it nicely to give you a balanced and enjoyable drink from start to finish.

    This Recipe Is Customizable

Use the baseline recipe below and then go nuts and make it your own! Here are a few ideas to get you started:

    • Make it a Virgin: Skip the spirits and make it a non-alcoholic drink instead! Just add a little more milk or coffee to replace the vodka and coffee liqueur. And try adding some maple syrup to replace the sweetness lost from removing the liqueur.
    • Skip the Pumpkin: No pumpkin puree? No problem. Swap sweet potato puree or butternut squash puree instead.
    • A Tropical Twist: Swap out the vodka and coffee liqueur for an equal amount of coconut rum and top with coconut whipped cream. Make your own whipped topping by blending the coconut cream from the top of a can of coconut milk with a bit of powdered sugar.
    • Frozé it: Instead of pouring over ice, blend the base and milk with the ice and enjoy a frappé instead.

    What You Will Need

    • Coffee liqueur – I use Kahlua but any coffee liqueur of your choice works.
    • Vodka – This doesnt need to be anything fancy. It will not be a strong taste in this cocktail unless you want to make it stronger.
    • Pumpkin pie spice – If you don’t have a pre-mixed pumpkin pie spice seasoning, just mix together 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp ground ginger, ½ tsp ground nutmeg, ½ tsp ground cloves, and ½ tsp allspice. Use ½ teaspoon of this mixture for each cocktail.
    • Heavy cream – Regular milk also works but your cocktail will just be less creamy. I would highly recommend using heavy cream, whipping cream, or half and half.
    • Ice – You’ll need regular ice cubes in your cocktail shaker and also ice in your cocktail glass if you’d like. I made extra large ice cubes with my Peak ice cube tray to put in my glasses because it looks extra fancy and displaces the perfect amount of liquid for this recipe to fill a 12 oz old fashioned glass.
    • Garnish – This is optional but I like to sprinkle the cocktails with some extra pumpkin spice and garnish with a cinnamon stick which doubles as a stir stick.

How To Serve Your Pumpkin Spice White Russian Cocktail

    Pumpkin Spice White Russian

White russians are typically served in an old fashioned glass, also known as a rocks glass or low ball glass. These are short glasses that hold about 8-12oz of fluid and you’re probably most familiar with them holding a neat pour of whisky on ice.

Another way to serve this pumpkin spice white russian is to shake all the ingredients together except for the cream and pour it into the glass first. Gently pour the cream on top of the dark liqueur for a colour block effect. Have your guests give their drink a quick stir to mix the layers together before sipping .

    Pumpkin Pie White Russian

Non Alcoholic Cocktail Recipe -Pumpkin Spice White Russian #shorts #alcoholfreedrinks #whiterussian

Let’s get right down to it. A White Russian is one of the most underrated cocktails. I have no idea why. It basically tastes like a coffee milkshake. Make it a pumpkin pie White Russian? You’ve got fall comfort food in a glass. It’s basically an alcoholic version of a pumpkin spice latte. I’ve got a recipe for that too, obviously. This one though is much heavier on the coffee flavour, plus it’s cold, so if you’re in for that, read on.

Let’s start with the basics. A White Russian usually has three things: vodka, coffee liqueur, and heavy cream. This pumpkin pie White Russian follows those basic ingredients, we’re just going to be using a pumpkin pie flavored cream instead of your basic. We’re also going to use 10% instead of heavy whipping cream, I just find it makes it easier to drink, like six, when the majority of the drink isn’t made of butter. You’re welcome.

For the pumpkin cream, we’re going to use pumpkin pie filling to make it as easy as possible, a little bit of pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla. Whisk it all together and you’re good to go!

For the drink itself, it couldn’t be easier. Add your coffee liqueur to a mixing glass half filled with ice. Add the vodka. Stir for 30 seconds. Pour into a rocks glass with ice. Pour over your pumpkin cream. Voila!

Oh, and make sure you watch the cream pour into the coffee liqueur as you do. It’s memorizing.

What Is A White Russian Drink

    • Typically a White Russian drink is made with vodka, coffee and cream. That’s it. Just those three basic ingredients.
    • In this recipe, instead of coffee, I am using Kahlua which combines rum with coffee liqueur. It’s not really a White Russian without vodka but you can leave it out of this recipe and it will still taste phenomenal.
    • Don’t feel like making the pumpkin spice cream? Try using your favorite pumpkin spice creamer!

Can I Make This A Frozen White Russian

If you want to make this a frozen drink, you can blend the drink with the ice instead of serving it over the rocks. Make everything as the recipe calls for but then add it all to a blender and blend it until it is the consistency you want. Some think it has a consistency similar to a frappucino when frozen, which is a fun way to enjoy an adult drink.

I use a homemade pumpkin creamer for this recipe, it’s very easy to make in just 5 minutes and lasts a week in the fridge. Simply mix one part each Kahlua, vodka, and the creamer and stir!

If you don’t want to make my homemade creamer you can easily substitute a store-bought pumpkin creamer-but I highly recommend the homemade version though, it’s a staple in my house this time of year and very easy to make!
