How To Make Orange Juice Margarita

The BEST Margarita Two Ways!

â In a cocktail shaker, combine 4 ounces orange juice and 1 ounce lime juice. Add a couple ice cubes, and shake for about 10 seconds until chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass. Either a lowball or highball glass works great for this blue curacao cocktail.

â In a separate glass, stir together 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila and 1 ounce blue curacao. Slowly pour tequila and blue curacao mixture over the back of a bar spoon on top of the orange and lime juice mixture so that it floats on top.

â Garnish with the glass with and/or a lime slice or wedge. You could also garnish with an orange slice. Give the cocktail a quick stir right before enjoying to turn the entire cocktail into a green-blue hue. Cheers!

Fresh Lime Juice Is A Must

Please please please do not use lime juice from a can or plastic container! Most home cooks already know this, but its worth repeating! Using bottled lime juice is almost as bad as using store-bought margarita mixes! Fresh lime juice is what gives a margarita its fresh flavor, so make sure to stock up, and buy enough to garnish each drink with a lime wedge or two!

Do You Need To Shake This Cocktail

Yes, a margarita should definitely be shaken and not stirred. Shaking a cocktail is a more effective way to blend the ingredients together so that you have an uniformed flavor throughout the drink. It also helps to chill the drink much more effectively so its perfectly ice cold.

If you dont have a cocktail shaker, you can use a mason jar with a lid to combine the ingredients. You want to shake the marg for at least 20 seconds to get it nice and cold.

How To Make Skinny Margaritas At Home Step

One of the main reasons I sometimes shy away from making cocktails at home is the perception that it is somehow complicated or takes too much time, especially if Im already entertaining or preparing an involved meal. Fortunately, though, making these simple skinny margaritas could not be easier. Even with squeezing the juice yourself, youll have a drink in hand in 10 minutes flat!

First, prep your glasses. If you dont make cocktails often, this step may feel fancy, but its so easy! Cut a little wedge from a lime, slice it open, and run the wedge partway around the rim of each glass. Now dip the glass in a shallow plate filled with coarse salt. Kosher salt or coarse sea salt work fine. The salt will adhere to the lime juice, giving your glass that iconic rim.

Its more traditional to rub the wedge completely around the glass, but I prefer doing it only 1/2 or 3/4 of the way. This gives you, or your lucky margarita recipient, the option of how much salt to get in each sip!

Now just fill each glass with a few cubes of ice, and prep the rest of your ingredients. A simple manual juicer makes quick work of juicing an orange and a couple of limes. I have and love one like this, but have been considering investing in this one, as well under $20 and the reviews are so good!

Then pour over the ice in your prepared glasses, and .. thats it! Enjoy!

    Triple Sec Or Cointreau

Frozen Creamsicle Margaritas Are Changing The Game

I prefer to use triple sec in this margarita, but you can use cointreau if you prefer. They are both orange liqueurs, but cointreau has a stronger orange flavor, so I prefer to use triple sec so that its not too overpowering.

Cointreau also contains more alcohol, so if you arent much of a drinker, triple sec is probably a better option.

    Cheers my Dears
    • Use fresh orange juice for the brightest and freshest flavors.
    • Shake your drink until the outside of the shaker is icy cold.
    • Dont forget the salt rim for you glass! It works wonderfully with the zingy citrus flavors.

How To Make A Margarita :

Detailed instructions are included in the recipe below, but here is a brief overview of how to make a single-serving homemade margarita:

  • Prep your glasses: If you would like to salt the rim of your glass, simply run a juicy lime wedge around the rim and then dip the rim in coarse Kosher salt. Set the glass aside until ready to use.
  • Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker: Combine the tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and a few ice cubes in a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake shake shake: Give the mixture a good shake for about 10 seconds or until chilled.
  • Taste and add sweetener, if desired: Give the margarita mix a taste and if you think it needs extra sweetener, add in a teaspoon or two of agave at a time until the mix reaches your desired level of sweetness.
  • Strain and serve on the rocks. Place a few ice cubes in the serving glass, then strain the margarita mix over the ice and garnish with a slice of lime.
  • Pretty Tangy And Tasty

I can’t stop staring at this beautiful orange juice blue margarita. The bottom half of this mixed drink is made with freshly squeezed orange juice and lime juice.

Next we float on the booze. The top part is a combination of blue curacao and silver tequila. When mixed, it turns the gorgeous turquoise and tastes so good. Think a traditional margarita but with an orange twist added to it. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of pretty blue curaçao cocktails!

This cocktail was made for my The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror movie night! This margarita can also be called the “marge-arita.” Get it?? The margarita looks just like Marge! I garnished with maraschino cherries to resemble Marge’s necklace. I paired this cocktail with a pink icing raspberry jelly-filled donut for the perfect Simpsons dinner and a movie.

What Is The Difference Between A Regular Margarita And A Texas Margarita

Your regular margarita has the classic combination of tequila, triple sec and lime. A Texas margarita recipe simply adds orange juice to that mix. It is such a refreshing twist on the traditional margarita recipe, and I mean… it’s kinda sorta perfect for brunch.

You can use whatever orange juice you like best for this fresh orange juice margarita. I am so partial to the Simply Orange products, but also will make this margarita recipe with any orange juice.

    Four Easy Vodka Drinks

Hello, my favorite margarita-pairing of Mexican foods! But it doesnt stop at fresh, spicy Mexican flavors. I love a fresh, citrusy margarita alongside grilled fish or spicy chipotle shrimp. Because of the tart, citrus flavors, it pairs best with spicy, bold flavors.

How To Make A Triple Citrus Marg

If youre going to salt the rim of your glass, its important to remember to do this first, since you wont be able to once you pour the cocktail into it. Start by taking a lime wedge and running it around the rim of the glass youll be using. Pour some coarse sea salt or kosher salt on a small plate or low dish. Gently swirl the rim of the glass in the salt until coated. Now youre ready to make the cocktail!

Salt hack! If you dont want to go through any effort to salt the rim of your glass, a wise bartender once gave me the tip to finish the top of a margarita off with a sprinkle of salt, then it gets incorporated throughout, and still brings out the flavor, yet you dont have to worry about that first mouthful of salt or any mess!

To make the margarita, start by adding ice to an ice shaker, then pour in the tequila and triple sec.

Next goes in the juices, no order necessary.

Then, give it a few gentle shakes to combine, and use a strainer to pour into a salt rimmed glass filled with ice. Garnish as desired and enjoy!

If you dont have a cocktail shaker, you can use a Mason Jar with a lid instead. Otherwise, you can make it without! Just add the ingredients in the same order, over ice, into your serving glass. Gently shake, and serve.

What Is A Cara Cara Orange

Are you familiar with Cara Cara oranges?

I get so excited this time of year, when I see them arrive!

The Cara Cara is a medium-sized, seedless naval orange with pinkish-red flesh and a softly bright flavor.

While I still really like regular naval oranges and blood oranges, the Cara Cara has completely stolen my heart. I grab a big bag of them each week at the store when theyre in season!

Winters citrus season truly deserves a sunny orange margarita or two. Especially when theyre so easy to make!

All you need is freshly squeezed orange juice, a bit of fresh lime juice, tequila, Cointreau and a touch of simple syrup if youre wanting a little sweetness. I prefer to drink margaritas from a salt-rimmed glass, but thats entirely up to you.

If you cant find Cara Cara oranges, blood oranges would be a great substitute in this drink recipe. Naval oranges are beautiful, too!

When we have friends and family over for carnitas or , I like to stir together the margarita ingredients a few hours beforehand and let it chill altogether in the fridge. I prep the salt-rimmed glasses, set them aside. So when guests arrive, all I have to do is fill glasses with ice and divide out the pre-made margarita mixture.

Heres to this beautiful season of citrus. Enjoy!
