Lobster And Langostino Pizza

The Lobster and Langostino Pizza at Red Lobster is a classic case of so wrong, it’s right. A of lobster meat, langostino, chopped, often underripe tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil piled on a base that seems somewhere between an ultra thin-crust pizza and a tostada should not be as good as it is, and yet, it’s delicious.

The combination of lobster and langostino allows this appetizer to feel a little more luxurious than many of the chain’s other lobster-forward offerings, which can have a tendency to feel skimpy. It hovers somewhere between and , which is an unexpectedly delightful place for an appetizer to land. While this is not the best appetizer at Red Lobster, it’s a good one. In fact, we often love meals here comprised entirely of appetizers and dessert. If that’s your jam too, you should definitely order a Lobster and Langostino Pizza as part of your seafood smorgasbord.

âMy dog was having so much trouble and we needed to try all natural. Ollie had a good promotion to start at better prices than The Farmers Dog. I like the customer service and my dog likes the food. âI originally used The Farmer’s Dog and was not impressed with their lack of customer service, their pricing and lousy packaging – difficult to get all the food out of it.â

âI wanted to improve the quality of my dogs’ food. I tried The Farmer’s Dog first. My dogs hated it but I liked the quality of the food. I tried Ollie next and I love the quality of the food and my dogs love it.â

With your chicken breasts put into place, youll need to fill the pot with water. The amount may vary depending on what kind of pot youre using, but the goal is to have the chicken breasts completely submerged in water.

To keep your water from boiling over the pot, you should give about two inches of headspace from the surface of the water to the top of the pot.

At this stage, you may feel an urge to add some seasonings to the pot. This should be avoided.

Certain seasonings can actually upset your dogs stomach. Instead, just keep the chicken bland.

Homemade Dog Food Recipes For Small Dogs

There are many benefits to making your own homemade dog food. The first and most obvious benefit is that youre able to control what goes into the recipe. This means that you can avoid preservatives and fillers that are present in commercial brands of pet food and also ensure that your dog is getting the correct balance of nutrients they need.

A second benefit is that you can tailor the recipe to suit your pets specific tastes and dietary requirements. If your pet has a particular dislike for certain types of meal or vegetable then you can simply omit these ingredients from their diet all together this will mean fewer complaints when it comes time to feed them!

This method also allows you to cut down on waste as everything in these recipes is edible by humans too so any leftovers can be stored away safely in your fridge until next time!

Crunchy Popcorn Shrimp Dinner

Considering the fact that Red Lobster literally invented popcorn shrimp, you would think that its would be higher up on this list. However, just because it was the first to take tiny shrimp, bread them, and throw them in the deep fryer does not mean that they’re still the best at it.

For starters, unless you’re extremely lucky, the shrimp are highly unlikely to actually be crunchy. They’re also comprised of significantly more breading than they are shrimp, which means that you’re basically ordering a plate of slightly soggy fried bread crumbs. This will satisfy the consumer who is merely interested in eating handfuls of something, anything that’s deep fried, but all others will be disappointed here. The popcorn shrimp at fast-food seafood spot is actually significantly better than Red Lobster’s offering. If you can get better popcorn shrimp at a drive-thru, it’s best to skip this one and leave more room for Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

Cooking Our Way To A Healthier Dog Diet

Homemade Dog Food Recipes For Yorkie Puppies (With images)

Ever since I started raising my own dogs, Id always wanted to make their food at home but thought it would be too expensive or too time consuming, or that they wouldnt get the nutrition they needed.

During the month of Bugs doggy depression, I vowed to make her precious life as comfortable as possible.

Both of my pugs had a range of health issues growing up, which I unfortunately found out were common for the breed.

My older one had persistent hot spots and itchiness that no commercial dog food could cure .

Bug was overweight for a while when she was younger, even though she ate the recommended amount of food for her target weight. Eventually, I settled on Wellness kibbles and they did well with that brand.

But, I wanted to explore other options. I wanted to give them real food fresh, nutritious ingredients that I recognized and could even eat myself.

Ive mentioned in my post on homemade whole grain chicken feed that the entire household all share the same whole grains and seeds that we buy in bulk, as well as the bounty that comes from our edible garden.

Everything our animals eat, we can eat.

When it comes to homemade feed for our laying hens, we stick to a tried-and-true formula that works for every layer: 16 to 17 percent protein , vitamins, minerals, and amino acids from a wide variety of grains and seeds, and free range of a pasture for weeds, greens, and insects.

Dogs, on the other hand, arent bred for a standard function the way chickens are.

Start With A Good Recipe

Many dog food recipes fall short in certain nutrients, especially iron, copper, calcium, and zinc. Even some recipes created by veterinarians don’t measure up. The University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine tested 200 recipes, many written by vets. The researchers found most of the recipes were short on some essential nutrients.

The best way to make sure a recipe has what it takes is to choose one created by an expert with training in dog nutrition, says Jennifer Larsen, DVM, PhD. That might be a certified pet nutritionist or a PhD-trained animal nutritionist with experience making pet food. Your vet should be able to point you in the right direction.

Your pet needs protein , fat and carbohydrates . They also need calcium , and essential fatty acids .

And if that’s not enough to consider, if your dog has a health problem, they may need a special diet. You may need a pet nutrition expert to create custom recipes.

  • Will you be able to accurately determine the calories in you dog food recipes? Human dieting apps such as My Fitness Pal will allow you to breakdown the calorie count of individual ingredients.
  • Will you be able to ensure correct nutrient ratios in your dog food recipes, e.g. calcium and phosphorus ratios?
  • Can you provide the essential nutrient components in your dog food recipes? This can be very difficult to achieve without the aid of specially prepared supplements.
  • Have you factored in the cost and availability of the ingredients in your dog food recipes? Substituting ingredients when there is short supply alters the nutritional balance and calorie content of the recipe.
  • Have you ensured that the ingredients are safe for dogs? Some human foods are toxic to dogs. For more information read foods poisonous to dogs.
  • Have you considered the possibility of selective eating such as spitting out the peas? This will alter your dogâs calorie intake and nutrient balance. Avoid selective eating by blending the finished product.
  • Have you considered the preparation and cooking time involved in your dog food recipes?
  • Have you considered the storage life of homemade dog food and the need for refrigeration or freezing?

    What Does Your Yorkie Need

There are hundreds of dog breeds, and all are unique in their own way. However, the best food for Yorkies wont look that different from the best food for Great Danes. According to Dr. Gary Richter, Rovers resident veterinarian on The Dog People Panel, All dogs are of the same species Canis familiaris and, as such, have very similar nutritional needs, including protein requirements.

Still, while your Yorkies basic need for protein, fat, and essential nutrients wont change due to breed, size is a factor worth considering. As you might expect, Yorkies dont eat nearly as much as larger dogs. You may be surprised to learn, however, that they actually burn through calories at a faster rate.

The average dog needs about 30 calories per pound of body weight. Toy and small breeds have fast metabolisms and may require more calories per pound than larger dogs. Weighing an average of 4 to 7 pounds, an adult Yorkie typically needs anywhere from 150 and 250 calories per day. Puppies may also need significantly more.

Toy breeds like the Yorkie also require a steady influx of energy throughout the day. Though the average dog may be just fine with two meals, your Yorkie could need three or four small meals to sustain their metabolism and prevent hypoglycemia throughout the day.

    Finely Chopped Dog Food

If your dog is picky or will only eat finely chopped dog food , you can either run the vegetables through a food processor or finely chop them on a cutting board. Hand held boxed graters work but take a lot of time. I use the shredder blade on my processor and buzz everything through. Also, try frozen riced vegetables, they are a great option and work great!
