Raspberry Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Ball
Theres certainly something fantastic about the raspberry and chocolate combination. The flavors of this Raspberry Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball come together with a delicate floral aroma of raspberry along with the sweetness of chocolate- without either flavor overpowering the other. I love these two tastes combined!
Dill Pickle Cheese Ball
Although it has only five ingredients, this cheese ball, too, is zingy and zesty.
Of course, you cant really mix cream cheese, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, dill pickle relish, and dill and expect it not to be zingy and zesty.
Its delicious, though, as long as you like dill.
If youre looking for something a bit milder, this port wine cheese ball might be more your style.
Its salty and savory and has plenty of nuts and just a hint of spiciness.
Because of the complementary colors used in the ball, its also one of the prettier options on the list, and it isnt even trying to be.
When it comes to cheese balls, my favorites are always those that have the sharpest flavors.
However, now and then, even I get in the mood for something sweeter.
This caramel apple cheese ball is a delightful fall treat.
It combines cream cheese, walnuts, sharp cheddar, green apples, caramel sauce, and nutmeg for something thats not too sweet but just sweet enough.
Serve it with crackers, more apple slices, pretzels, or whatever else you like. Itll wow everyone who tries it.

Cheese balls are the ultimate easy appetizer for two main reasons.
Just mix up the cream cheese and other flavor ingredients in a mixing bowl with either a rubber spatula or hand mixer, then plop the mixture down on a sheet of plastic wrap. Mac And Cheese Balls Recipe
This recipe is the ultimate way to use up leftover mac and cheese. We all know that next-day macaroni and cheese doesnt taste as good because its so hard to reheat. Here is the perfect solution! This delicious recipe needs refrigerated mac because they will easily form into balls. After you form it into balls, then you coat it in a delicious crust made from eggs, breadcrumbs, and a scrumptious blend of seasonings. You heat them up in the air fryer, and they become the ultimate leftover hack!
Before placing them in the air fryer, it is important that you place the balls on a pan in the freezer for about 20 minutes to harden. They should be stiff so that they wont fall apart in the air fryer. This recipe is so fun to make and will turn into a family favorite appetizer or snack!
What Ingredients Are In A Cheese Ball
Typically the base of a cheese ball is made with cream cheese. Then you add your flavorings such as shredded cheese, onion, garlic, peppers, green onion, bacon, nuts really the ideas are endless.
Its important to use full-fat cream cheese because fat free cream cheese is too watery and will affect the texture of your cheese ball after sitting around.
The original recipe I adapted had more cream cheese than cheddar, which is the opposite of what I wanted. I kept adding more and more cheddar until I was happy.
I used a block of sharp cheddar which I grated by hand. Feel free to use mild or sharp, block or preshredded.
Next is the bacon! Its important to use fresh, crispy bacon and not imitation bacon bits. They may work in salads and dip mixes but not for this cheese ball. Real bacon always makes it better.

Serving Suggestions & Cheese Ball Faqs
Serving Your Bacon Cheddar Cheese Ball
You can serve your bacon cheese ball right away & trust me, it wont last long after it hits the table! But what do you eat with a cheese ball? Cheese balls are best served with something crunchy & dippable. Crackers& veggies are two of the best options. Theres no need to get too fancy here a cheese ball is a pretty casual, rustic snack. Butter crackers like Ritz or a bag of baby carrots are all you need. I personally love a hearty, salty cracker like Wheat Thins to scoop up a big bite of bacon cheddar cheese ball. Theres nothing better!
What is the best cheese for a cheese ball?
Cream cheese is ideal for creating the perfectly round shape of a classic cheese ball. A cream cheese ball is soft & easily shapeable, with the all-around perfect texture. But adding other cheese to your cream cheese ball will really take the flavor up a notch. I like cheddar since its sharp, slightly nutty flavor is a good contrast to the creaminess of cream cheese. Smoked gouda works great too! Whatever cheese you use, make sure to freshly grate it for the best flavor & freshness.
How do you firm up a cheese ball?
If your cheese ball is too soft to form into a round ball, it might need some more time in the freezer. Chilling your cream cheese ball helps all the ingredients mesh together & makes the cheese firm up so its easy to shape into a ball.

Sowhats A Cheese Ball Made Of Bacon Cheddar Cheese Ball Key Ingredients
A cheese ball is made with, you guessed it, plenty of cheese! But adding a few more simple staples makes this bacon cheese ball one of a kind.
Note: Full ingredients list & measurements provided in the Recipe Card, below.
You will need
- Cheese Of course! I suggest using a mix of cheese for any cheese ball recipe. This recipe uses sharp cheddar & cream cheese . It doesnt get any better than a cream cheese ball loaded with extra cheese! Always grate fresh cheese for the best results.
- Bacon Bacon adds a subtle smoky flavor, which cuts through the richness of all of the cheese & makes each cheese ball bite extra-delicious. Center-cut bacon is my fave for a bacon cheese ball because its typically a little leaner & meatier.
- Green onions Fresh green onions give cheese balls a festive pop of color & some freshness to balance to all that rich cheese.
- Staple spices Garlic powder& smoked paprika add some extra flavor to this cheese ball recipe. Add a dash of cayenne pepper if you want your cheese ball to have more of a spicy kick its so good!
- Beer My cheese ball recipe secret ingredient! Adding beer to the bacon cheese ball helps round out the flavor from the rich cheese & smoky bacon. Use whatever beer you love most! I find that the bold flavor of a big IPA works really well here, as would a heavier or darker beer like a nice porter. While Im not a big beer drinker, Im a big fan of using it in a classic cheese ball recipe. It adds an epic amount of flavor!
Pineapple Pecan Cheese Ball
One of the best things about cheese balls is that they blend contrasting flavors in a complimentary way.
With this one, you get the sweetness and tanginess of crushed pineapples and cream cheese, the nuttiness of pecans, and the savory earthiness of garlic and onions.
It seems like it shouldnt work, but it does!

Tips For The Best Cheese Ball
Though theres not much that can go wrong when making a cheese ball, here are some added tips we found helpful:
- If you dont have Ranch seasoning, you can substitute the sour cream and Ranch seasoning with your favorite Ranch dressing instead. It is a little easier to form the ball with sour cream though since it is thicker.
- The cream cheese MUST be at room temperature or youll have a really hard time mixing.
- If you enjoy spicy food, add Hot Sauce or Sriracha to the mixture for a kick.
- When serving the cheese ball, serve at room temp for a softer mixture thats easier to spread or dip.
- You can use your favorite cheese or a mixture of cheeses. Mild cheddar, sharp cheddar, four-cheese , Colby Jack or Monterey Jack cheese are all great options. TIP: Purchase a block of cheese and shred it for better flavor without additives.
