% Agave Tequila For Your Frozen Strawberry Margarita Mix

This Frozen Strawberry Margarita is absolutely delicious. Its one of those cocktails where you know youre going to prepare another batch as soon as you finish the last sip. Each of them is wonderfully smooth, bursting with vibrant strawberry flavor and with just a hint of tequila.

Speaking of tequila, make this easy Frozen Strawberry Margarita with our Olmeca Altos Blanco . The delicate flavors of a Reposado or Añejo will be lost in this frozen cocktail and may clash with the strawberry flavor.

Altos Plata Tequila is perhaps the bartenders favorite tequila for margaritas. Its a smooth 100% agave tequila that highlights the pure expression of agave. With an herbaceous taste and a spicy, warm finish, the flavor is well-balanced and wonderfully complements the freshly squeezed lime juice.

    Why You’ll Love Them

All margaritas are definitely not created equal.

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and your margarita tastes like pure sugar, or worse, a cheap mix or syrup, I’ll pass on that, how about you!?

My strawberry margarita’s are made with fresh and frozen strawberries. Absolutely no strawberry margarita mix here. And that’s the secret to a perfect margarita, no mix.

They are also made without triple sec. Let’s keep it quick and easy. But by all means, if you feel the need to add it, I know some readers have – then go for it.

My mouth is literally watering just thinking about these. Refreshing and chilly, perfect for a warm summer night.

Cinco de Mayo is coming up and these are always a hit when I bring them to parties! The only complaint is once the pitcher is empty. If you don’t know what the meaning of cinco de mayo is – it’s easy, it means “5th of May” in Spanish.

I have some great cindo de mayo recipe recommendations down toward the bottom of the post.

    Strawberry Margaritas Recipe

First and foremost, were going to freeze our margarita mix. Pour it into an ice cube trayIve found most regular ice cube trays measure about 1 oz. per cubeand pop it into the freezer. Freeze for 2-3 hours, or until the mix is frozen solid before proceeding.

Yes, freezing margarita mix feels super extra, and I know its a hassle. You cant make this drink right after you read the recipe, I know. HOWEVER, weve taken to freezing entire trays of margarita mix and then when theyre frozen, transferring them to a storage baggie to keep in the freezer for whenever we have a hankering for a frozen margarita.

Next, rim the glasses with sugar. Sprinkle granulated sugar onto a small plate. Then youll run a lime wedge around the lip of your glass. Dip the glass into the granulated sugar, patting it gently to ensure the sugar sticks to the rim. Once ready, set aside for later.

In the base of a blender, combine the tequila, Cointreau, margarita mix, simple syrup and frozen strawberries. Blend until smooth.

Serve immediately in the sugar-rimmed glasses with strawberries and lime wedges!

The beauty with this cocktail recipe is that you can use either fresh or frozen berries. That means you wont have to wait for the fruit to be in season to sip on your favorite drink! Here is what you need to get started.

    • Tequila
    • Ice
    • Sugar to taste, optional but helpful if you use fresh strawberries

You want to be sure to use a good silver tequila. A budget friendly version that always works well is Jose Cuervo Blue Agave. The strawberries have a bold flavor that blend well with the mild tequila.

Adding sugar to the recipe is not necessary, but if you are using fresh berries I recommend it.

Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail Recipe – Summer Slush at its best!

Ice cream is easier to make than you think, and I promise you wont regret buying an ice cream maker once you taste this!

I enjoy some texture in my ice cream, so I mashed the berries a little when I made this but kept them pretty chunky for bigger pops of color and flavor.

Of course, you can always blend it if you want this to be silky smooth.

If you do decide to blend your berries, maybe try adding something else to the mix instead?

White chocolate or dark chocolate chips would be nice, or maybe even chopped Golden Oreos for another layer of flavor.

Ive been a margarita gal my whole life, but theres one other cocktail that adds a pep to my step, and its the classic daiquiri.

When you want something cold and sweet, this is the perfect drink.

The rum is noticeable but not the main event. Instead, the fruity flavors can really shine .

This recipe calls for simple syrup, just like making smoothies, and I dont suggest you skip it.

Its not a lot, but that little bit of sugar brings the strawberries to life like you wont believe.

How Do I Salt A Rim At Home

Salting the rim of your margarita glasses is very easy. Salt the rims of your margarita glasses should be the first step in making margaritas. Heres how to do it:

  • Start with your margarita salt. Any larger granule salt, like kosher salt is ideal for salting rims. For some extra flavor and dimension, try adding a bit of chili powder to your salt. If youre looking for margarita salt, I recommend this Jose Cuervo Margarita Salt on Amazon.
  • Next, run a lime around the edge of the glass where you want to apply the salt.
  • Dip the edge of the glass in the salt.
  • Pour the margaritas into the prepared glasses.

What Temperature Should I Put My Ingredients In

The temperature of your ingredients is very important when youre making a frozen margarita.

If you would like to use a blender, you will need to chill all the ingredients first. If you would like to use a shaker, you will need to chill only the strawberries.

If the sugar and ice are frozen, you will not need to thaw them before you blend your ingredients.

What Is The Difference Between A Strawberry Daiquiri And A Strawberry Marg

Both of these beverages can be served either on the rocks, or blended with ice. Although to me, they are best frozen blended with ice. The main difference between these two cocktails is that daiquiris are usually made with rum while margaritas are usually made with tequila, and sometimes even with beer. So the difference is the type of alcohol, and not so much the way that it is served or made.

    Strawberry Pie With Frozen Strawberries

As mentioned above, strawberries will release a LOT of fruit when theyre cooked.

Thats why youll see them mixed with some kind of thickener in a lot of baking recipes.

This pie is no exception, and since this is just one big pile of strawberries, youll need more than you think.

For the filling of this strawberry pie, youll need to add 1/2 cup of cornstarch.

Youre probably used to only adding a couple of tablespoons, but trust the process.

Most milkshakes are thick and creamy because they include a generous amount of ice cream.

When you want to treat yourself, theres nothing better!

But if youre looking for a lighter version to help cool you down this summer, this recipe is just as creamy but has no ice cream in sight.

As mentioned above, using frozen berries will leave you with an ultra-thick and decadent milkshake.

Plus, you wont have to worry about extra calories or ice watering it down. Win, win!

If you want it even creamier, try adding half a frozen banana, too!

    Make Ahead Strawberry Margaritas

If I were batching this cocktail for a party, Id blend all the ingredients, minus the ice, and store in a container in the freezer the night before. You can easily double or triple the recipe this way so you can refill drinks all night long.

The day of, dump it all into a blender with some ice and whiz it up.

Dont try and skip the ice though! Youll need some water content to balance out the drink to take the place of ice that is shaken or stirred in a non-frozen cocktail. Otherwise, youd end up with a much more potent cocktail.

What Kind Of Tequila Should I Use To Prevent A Hangover

There isnt really a scientific answer to this question. Yet rumor states, the kind of tequila that is less likely to give you a hangover is a pure, 100 percent agave tequila. AKA blanco tequila.

Of course, you can still get a hangover with tequila blanco based on how much you drink and the way your body breaks down the alcohol, especially when sugar is added to the mix. So know your limits and drink responsibly!

    Perfect Strawberry Muffins Recipe

Blueberry muffins are great, but have you ever tried a batch of lightly spiced strawberry muffins before?

As these bake, the strawberries will soften to the point they just melt in your mouth when you take that first bite.

One unusual ingredient on this list here is black pepper.

Since strawberries have a little bit of tartness, black pepper helps to mellow that out and enhance the sweetness.

Of course, you can leave it out if you prefer.

    Strawberries Why Fresh And Frozen

I love the fresh taste of the strawberries, like someone just made my margarita and plucked the strawberries right off of a bush.

The reason why I use some frozen in this recipe for strawberry margaritas is so that you’ll need to use less ice and you get a better concentrated punch of flavor!

So why not just all frozen? Listen, it just works. When you don’t add the fresh margaritas you can taste the difference. Trust me.

Honestly, I think the first time I ever made these I had a bit of fresh strawberries in the fridge so I just used them up!

There wasn’t even a rhyme or reason but because they were so amazing, I made them the same every single time.
