This spinach dip is super easy to make. Once you have your spinach thawed, drained and dried out.simply mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until totally combined and then store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
You can serve in a bread bowl.or not. The choice is totally yours.
Knorr Spinach Dip will last in the refrigerator for 3-4 days in an airtight container. It must be refrigerated at all times.
I dont recommend freezing your spinach dip.

- 1Thaw spinach in microwave, and squeeze dry.
- 2Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and soup mix until well blended.

This dip will last for about a week in the refrigerator, but it goes watery fast thanks to those water chestnuts and spinach, so try to eat it within a day or two. I also wouldn’t recommend freezing it as Im not a big fan of freezing recipes that are heavy in dairy as they tend to go runny and watery once theyve thawed. It would still be safe to eat but Im not sure youd want to eat it! If youre not certain that youll use up a whole batch, just make a half batch to be on the safe side.

Can I tell you that I actually ate this dip twice for dinner and maybe for lunch, too, along with a snack or two before bed? Ive just been too tired from gardening to cook, but this makes a lot! I even tried to pawn some of my son, Kraig, whos been helping me with the yard work, again and still!. Maybe I shouldnt have told him the name, just brought it out and let him try! The gardens are still works in progress with multiple areas started and others still pretty desperate! These photos are showing that but theres a lot more work to do before we even start cleaning up!
Weve had a series of hard rains that stripped the blossoms right off my William Baffin Rose, which still hasnt gotten tied to the trellis, but I bought nylons at the dollar store, so it will be, soon. Two of my fave roses, both cut to the ground this year because of the rabbit problems are starting to bloom. The new stems on one rose are so delicate they wont support the flowers and I can see it needs a spray. A third rose has only put up one stem, but I have hopes hell make it now.

Swansons recipe isnt an exact dupe for Lipton, but ÃÂ½ cup of her French Onion Salt can be used as a substitute for a 1-ounce packet of dehydrated French onion soup mix. I made batches of dip with each to compare, purely for editorial reasons. Sour cream dip made with Liptons mix had richer, darker flavor. The one made with Swansons mix was brighter, and somehow more elegant. If Liptons dip was a robust winter onion, Swansons was a lithe spring onion. I could eat a whole batch of either in a single sitting. If you want to make a version with Swansons homemade mix thats closer to the Lipton standard, add a few dashes of Worcestershire or soy sauce when stirring everything together .
Or, if you want to go your own way, Swanson also suggests swapping out the dried chives for any other dried herb you love. Go thyme for an even more French feel or dried mint for something a little more zingy. Dill? Cilantro? Besobela? Really, whatever you like.

- Sour Cream I used regular sour cream but heres an excellent chance to lighten things up with a low fat sour cream, if you wish. It wont really alter the flavor much at all.
- Mayonnaise Also, I use regular mayonnaise as it adds a nice, fluffy, creamy texture to the dip but you can use an olive oil based mayo or a low fat version if youre trying to keep things on the lighter side.
- Water Chestnuts The texture of water chestnuts can be a little weird to some but if you chop them up finely they add a wonderful crunch to the dip. Dont skip them. Im not a fan and I love them in this recipe.
- Scallions An onion-y bite with bright green color, this addition is fresh and flavorful. If you cant find scallions or green onions, chopped fresh chives add a nice mild onion flavor, too.
- Frozen Chopped Spinach Yes, you can use fresh but youll need mounds and mounds of fresh spinach to start. Then, youll have to cook it down. Its best to start with frozen, thawed.and just stir it right into your dip. So easy!
