Quick oats, as the name suggests, require less cooking time than other varieties. They should also be the least desirable when it comes to nutritional content and health benefits. Theyre thinner and have a softer texture than rolled oats. Their taste is mild and they work out well in smoothies.

    Steel-Cut Oats These oats are sometimes referred to as Scottish oats or Irish oats. Theyre less processed than rolled oats.
