This solution works particularly well on dandelions. When applying, set your spray bottle to the stream setting if possible and spray directly onto the dandelion heads. This should help take out the dandelions without affecting the grass too much.

Before you spray them all down, especially if its early Spring, note that dandelions are an important food source for pollinators.

Flowers are an important food source for pollinators especially bees, John Mulseed wrote in his Greenspace column. Dandelions are one of the first flowing plants and provide both pollen and nectar. By late May, more flowering plants are available as food sources for bees and other insects, so they dont have to rely as much on dandelions.

Which Is Better To Kill Weeds: Salt Or Epsom Salt

Some recipes for killing weeds ask for regular table salt, while on the other hand, some demand Epsom salt. So, you need to know what difference lies between the usage of these two. You already know that the Epsom salt contains Magnesium sulfate, that is, it contains Magnesium and sulfur.

These two elements are essential nutrients for the healthy growth of a plant. Thus, Epsom salt act as a fertilizer too along with a weed killer. When it is dissolved in water, it spreads as a fertilizer and helps in vegetation.

Contrarily, regular table salt is sodium chloride, it contains sodium and chlorine. It only acts as a weed killer as compared to Epsom salt.

So, both of them can kill the weeds. But, Epsom salt is widely recommended for killing weeds as its beneficial for being a fertilizer as well.

Do You Need Special Vinegar To Kill Weeds

The short answer is yes because some of them won’t work. You should look for vinegar with high acidity since acetic acid plays an essential role in killing weeds.

I don’t recommend regular old household vinegar that has 5% acetic acid only. This number just can wilt the weeds, and after a short time, they will regrow. The worse case is that it does nothing.
