These homemade dog biscuits require very few ingredients and are super easy to make. What’s notable in this recipe is there are two things we have left out. This recipe is specifically without pumpkin and without peanut butter, which is something we have had requests for after sharing our other popular dog treat recipes that have them in.
One thing these homemade dog biscuits DO contain is parsley. Most of us are familiar with parsley as a garnishment on our plates and sometimes used for seasoning our savory recipes.
For those that don’t know, parsley is a spice that has a slightly bitter flavor. It may not sound appetizing, but it actually balances the other flavors in the dish and adds a depth of flavor.

What 3 Ingredients Do I Need For This Home
The three simple ingredients for this home-made dog treat recipe are:
- Cooked sweet potato
- All natural peanut butter
- And oat flour
AND if youre hoping for an even simpler option that requires no cooking of the sweet potato you can use canned pumpkin puree!
Dogs love pumpkin and its very healthy for them as long as the pumpkin you are using is not sweetened! Make sure you are not using pumpkin pie filling which often has sweeteners and additives. Your can of pumpkin puree should have pumpkin as the only ingredient listed.
Likewise, the peanut butter you use should have peanuts as the only ingredient listed. Make sure there are no additives that could be harmful to your dog.
And if youre wondering how to make oat flour dont stress! Simply grind the regular quick or rolled oats in your pantry into a fine meal and you have oat flour!
I decided to use all oat flour for this recipe as many dogs are sensitive to wheat. BUTif your dog isnt sensitive to wheat then feel free to make this recipe with whole wheat flour and there will be no grinding of oats involved either!
