Since we are all at home cooking out of our pantry, I thought I would share some of my favorite recipes that are made with Cream of Chicken Soup. Cream of Chicken Soup is a staple in our house. I always have a few cans on hand to be able to whip up a quick casserole or soup.

Today I am sharing 15 of our favorite recipes made with a can of Cream of Chicken Soup. Ive got pork, beef, and chicken recipes. All of the recipes are super easy to make and use everyday ingredients. Im sure you have most, if not all, of them all in the house now.

These days, I often make some of my favorite comfort food in the Instant Pot, because it saves time and keeps life simple.

Ive made Instant Pot chicken pot pie, Instant Pot chicken with noodles, Instant Pot chicken and stuffing, and pressure cooker chicken and dumplings, so chicken and rice was a must-have, too!

The best Instant Pot chicken and rice recipes are the ones that are easy to make yet bring about a sense of warmth and comfort when you eat them!

Chicken and rice casserole has been one of my favorites over the years, and while there are many different variations, they all are based on the same premisewhite rice and tender chicken wrapped in a creamy sauce.

Sometimes its topped with crushed crackers or cornflakes, sometimes its topped with shredded cheese that gets melted to perfection.

This recipe for chicken and rice in the Instant Pot uses cream of chicken soup and shredded cheese to make that delicious sauce.

A few months ago, I came across this crock pot chicken and rice recipe from Julie at Back to My Southern Roots. If you dont follow her already, you totally shouldshe has so many southern goodies on her site.

I decided to convert the slow cooker recipe into a pressure cooker recipe, and made some adaptations to the recipe along the way.

But let me tell you, the final result was delicious!

Tips For The Best Creamy Chicken And Rice Casserole

  • Use chicken thighs, not breasts. Chicken thighs are higher in fat than breasts, so they remain tender, juicy, and more flavorful after baking. Theyre also less expensive. That said, weve included instructions for both thighs and breasts.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil. The rice needs to absorb the liquid from the sauce and any juices that the chicken gives off, so dont let it evaporate during baking. Wrapping the baking dish in foil also protects the boneless, skinless thighs or breasts from the intense, direct heat of the oven resulting in tender, juicy chicken.
  • Turn off the oven to melt the cheese. The final step is sprinkling with shredded cheddar cheese. Turn off the oven, and return the dish to the still-warm oven just until the cheese melts. The cheese slowly and gently melts so that when you spoon into the casserole, the gooey cheese lingers, unable to decide whether to stay in the dish or travel to your plate.

    Recipe For Cream of Chicken Soup From Scratch : Glorious ...

    Typically the cream part of chicken and rice soup is a milk base. When milk is frozen it tends to separate and the resulting thawed soup turns out not so great.

    Because this recipe calls for evaporated milk you should be able to freeze this and not get the separation. So this recipe can be frozen in an airtight container for up to 2 months.

    With that being said, we are also dealing with rice which may turn to mush in your freezer. For best results, if you plan on freezing I recommend making the entire soup ahead of time but omit the rice.

    After the soup is thawed add the same amount of cooked rice to your recipe and itll taste great!

    If instead you just want to eat it a few days later, it will taste great reheated directly from your fridge.
