With A Juicer Extractor

Green Juice – The Best Energy Drink! by Rockin Robin

To make this simple green juice recipe, use a quality vertical juicer extractor, mine is a Biochef and it performs great. It squeezes at a slow speed which separates the fibers from the liquids and preserves a maximum of nutrients.

Your juices will be as good as the ones you can buy in the shops, with a super tasty and nutritious taste and above all you will be able to choose what it is made of.

Refreshing Cucumber Green Juice

Nutrient-dense kale is paired with a refreshing, hydrating cucumber base. Green apples add a slight sweet-tart flavor to balance everything out and lemon is used to cut through the flavor and keep the juice vibrant and fresh. Drink this juice to help reduce inflammation, support heart health, lower blood pressure, prevent cancer, and promote healthy skin.

Green Juice Recipe Ingredients

I only use four ingredients to make this healthy green juice recipe.

  • Two apples: Use your favorite kind of apples or whatever is in season!
  • A whole lemon: I add the peel and all! If you dont want to add the peel, use a citrus squeezer to get all the juices out.
  • One cucumber: I particularly like English Cucumbers. They have a thinner peel on them.
  • And a handful or two of curly kale: I like kale in my green juice, but any leafy green will work!

Conservation Of Green Juices

The green juice recipes can be kept for a limited time, about 2 days maximum, and exclusively in the refrigerator. After that, you will start to notice that the color of the juice turns more towards khaki green. This is a sign that the juice has lost some of its nutrients and this is also noticeable in the taste.

This healthy green juice recipe is made with whole fruits and vegetables like kale, cucumbers, fresh mint or parsley, ginger, lemon, and apples. So nutrient dense, easy, and delicious. Vegan, gluten free, Whole30 compatible, and paleo.

A quick note on this recipe! The original version of this post was published back in 2017. Since then Ive re-tested the recipe, updated the photographs, and the content. Im republishing it for you today to enjoy! I hope you continue to make and love this delicious green juice. xo

For YEARS I thought that since I didnt have a juicer at home the only healthy green juice I would be enjoying was the expensive juice bar option. Which, I admit, I do love. But unfortunately my budget does not.

    Can you relate?

    So I got to thinking…

Could I make a delicious green juice without a juicer?

And the answer, obviously, is YES! Otherwise we wouldnt be here now would we?

    Green Juice Vs Green Smoothie

The main difference between a green juice and a green smoothie is that in a green juice the fiber from the ingredients is separated from the liquid, and in a smoothie the fiber is kept intact.

Both have their benefits, and if you wanted to retain the fiber in this recipe you could drink it without first straining it.

If you want to make this recipe more of a smoothie style drink I would recommend add a banana to help emulsify everything. Otherwise the fiber will naturally start to separate from the juice and it may be too thick to enjoy.

Make A Green Smoothie With A Blender

If you don’t have a juicer then use a blender that will uniquely mix to reduce its drink. And you can always strain your mixture through a nut milk bag or a fine-mesh sieve to separate all the fibers from the fruit and vegetables and keep only the liquid.

Using the blender will mix at high speed the green juice recipe which will destroy a large part of the nutrients a bit like the heat during cooking.

Tips For Making Our Green Juice

    Mocktail Mojito Green Juice Recipe

As I mentioned before, this is the Vitamix that we use. You can use any sort of blender to make this recipe, though! Weve just found that this machine has been awesome to blend every ingredient really well. We had a Ninja for about five years before this and it worked well for us, but the Vitamix seems to be a bit nicer.

It does come with specific recommendations on how to load the blender for ideal mixing. For this recipe, it starts with the most liquid items and builds its way up to harder things .

Finn purchased a cheap funnel to make it a lot easier to pour out any juices or smoothies he creates. It makes things waaaay less messy. Im telling ya, pick one up!

These are the bottles we use to store the juice. This recipe fills about three and a half of them, so Finn will make these about twice a week. If you let the bottles of juice sit for more than two or three days it really doesnt taste as good, so its best to drink them immediately!

Honestly, I feel really good drinking this green juice recipe every morning. I feel fuller, longer , and I like knowing that Im getting some good stuff in me for the baby . Balance, right?!

Please let us know if you make this recipe! Tag me on Instagram so I can see your green concoctions. Oh, and if you have any other amazing recipes that we can use in the Vitamixsend them my way! Finn has made lots of stuff from the book that comes with the machine, but its time to branch out.

    What’s In It Ingredients:

Kale: can’t go wrong with this super green! And any variety of kale will work. I used one whole bunch of organic Dinosaur kale which has flatter leaves.

Ginger: about 1 inch of fresh ginger, peeled, works for me. But if you love the taste of ginger and want to do a bit more, you sure can! It’s great for digestion and an extra boost to the immune system.

Granny Smith Apple: these are the less sweet of the apple options, but they still add just enough natural sweetness to this green juice. Low on carbohydrates, Granny Smith apples provide vitamin C and can help inflammation, among their many benefits. But you can also use other apple varieties. If you want your green juice a bit more on the sweeter side, try Honey Crisp apples, for example.

Celery: probably the one thing I always have in my juice is celery. I use 5 to 6 celery stalks in this recipe. It’s rich with vitamins and antioxidants, but to me, one super important benefit is that it provides some good digestive support.

English cucumber: any kind of cucumber will work here, but English cucumbers are sweeter-tasting and their skin is thin, so they’re easier to juice. I like adding cucumber because it really does provide ample liquid to help this juice, and I love the refreshing flavor.
