This ground beef pasta recipe is so delicious and easy that anyone can make it. I learned how to make this skillet from a friend, but he told me he was inspired by his Mexican neighbors recipe, who calls it Conchitas. The term Conchitas comes from the shape of the pasta, which looks a lot like a goulash but with a Mexican touch.

How To Make Picadillo

  • Heat oil in a large skillet once oil is hot add the ground meat to cook. Break up large lumps of meat using a wooden spoon to make sure all the little pieces are well cooked. Fry until brown, about 8 minutes.
  • Add the onion and garlic. Stir and cook for about 1 minute, just enough to allow the onion to get transparent, then add Serrano pepper plus diced potatoes. Stir and keep cooking until potatoes are slightly tender, but still firm. This will take about 5 more minutes since you will still keep cooking them when you add the tomatoes.
  • Now, add the diced tomatoes and Knorr beef bouillon to your picadillo and stir again. The tomatoes will release their juices and the beef bouillon will dissolve, adding more flavor to the mix. Place a lid on your skillet and lower the heat. Keep cooking until your potatoes are completely cooked and the tomatoes have formed a thick sauce on your picadillo.
  • Finally, season your Mexican Picadillo with salt and pepper and add the chopped cilantro.

Of course, I hope you serve the Picadillo together with rice and warm corn tortillas. As many of our daily Mexican meals. This dish is especially good the next day. Enjoy!

Find out how to cook a quick, easy and ever-so-satisfying picadillo beef. With just a handful of simple ingredients, this recipe will help you prepare a hearty dish that works well served with rice or on its own.

  • 1 medium Spanish onion, small diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups diced Idaho potatoes
  • 3/4 cup diced carrots
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup diced red bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup frozen corn
  • 2 tbsp Knorr Liquid Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Tabasco
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 Freshly cracked black pepper

Heat a pot on medium/high heat with olive oil. Add the onions and garlic and sweat it for about 4 minutes. Once the onions are translucent, add the ground beef and sauté. With a wooden spoon, break the ground chicken up and mix with onions and garlic.

Add the potatoes and carrots. Add about 1/2 teaspoon of salt and some fresh cracked pepper. Let the potatoes and carrots cook together with the ground chicken and onion and garlic. Some liquid will come out of the potatoes and will evaporate. Mix the veggies and ground beef occasionally to prevent from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

After about 10 minutes, taste the potatoes and see if theyre tender. They dont have to be fully cooked, but as long as its getting soft, its good.

Add the bell peppers and toss again with the rest of the veggies and ground beef. You may need to turn up the heat a little. Let it cook and sauté for another 5 minutes.

Spanish Rice With Ground Beef

Growing up, my mom made a version of Spanish rice with ground beef that was hearty enough that it stood on its own as a main dish. During a visit a few years ago, after missing her cooking desperately, I watched her prepare it and jotted down the recipe. Serve on a bed of fresh spinach with a side of refried beans. Garnish with fresh diced tomatoes, green onions, cheese, avocado slices, and crushed chile flakes.

1 pound lean ground beef
3 cups water
1 ½ cups uncooked white rice
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 small onion, diced
1 tablespoon garlic salt

  • Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in water, rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, bell pepper, onion, chili powder, and garlic salt. Cook over high heat until boiling, about 5 minutes.
  • Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer until rice is tender, about 20 minutes.

How To Make Ground Beef Stuffed Peppers

Knorr Easy Beef Stew

Start prepping these ground beef stuffed peppers by browning the ground beef and preparing the Knorr Herb & Butter Rice. To save time, these steps can be completed simultaneously while the oven is preheating and shouldnt take more than 10 minutes tops.

1| Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. While the oven is preheating, bring a saucepan filled with 2 cups of water to a boil to prepare the rice. Meanwhile, brown the ground beef in a large skillet and drain.

2| Wash and dry the red bell peppers thoroughly, then slice them in half. Remove the seeds and membranes from inside each pepper, and arrange them in a 13×9 baking dish

3| Mix the browned ground beef with the Parmesan cheese, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Fold in the prepared Knorr Herb & Butter Rice.

4| Generously fill each pepper with the rice and ground beef mixture. Pour 1/2 cup of water into the baking dish around the stuffed peppers, and bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven, sprinkle each stuffed pepper with shredded mozzarella cheese, and then return the peppers to the oven for about 5 more minutes or until the cheese is melted.

    Italian Stuffed Peppers Recipe Ingredients

Vegetable Meatloaf made with lean ground beef, Knorr ...

Like the cheesy chicken and rice casserole and leftover turkey casserole I shared recently, these ground beef stuffed peppers start with a little shortcut a package of Knorr Herb & Butter Rice. It provides a flavorful base for the filling, and the herby, buttery sauce keeps it tender and juicy. And you can conveniently pick it up at Meijer, along with all of the other necessary ingredients!

Knorr Rice Side Dishes cook on the stovetop in just 7 minutes, which makes them an ideal quick and easy side for any meal. But this also makes them perfect as a main dish meal recipe starter! Just add your favorite protein and veggies for a dinner your family is sure to love.

cooked and crumbled ground beef making these stuffed peppers with ground beef is ideal for stretching a pound to the max. Ground chicken or ground turkey would also work well or spice them up a bit with some ground Italian sausage!

fresh red bell peppers I like the way the sweetness of red bell peppers pairs with the savory filling, but you can use orange, yellow, or even green, as well.

tomato paste helps to bind everything together without adding excess liquid. Since were not using a whole can, I recommend looking for a variety that comes in a tube to avoid waste.

Parmesan cheese the grated kind works just fine in this dish.

mozzarella cheese we prefer a whole milk variety with large shreds, but any shredded variety will do.

A Few Quick Tips For Best Results:

    • Choose large red bell peppers that are uniformly round in order to best maximize the filling to pepper ratio.
    • I chose to slice my peppers in half, preserving the stems for visual appeal. But you can also just lop off the tops and stand them up! If you go this route, take a thin slice off the bottoms so that they sit up straight in the dish.
    • If you prefer a more tender filling, you can add the mozzarella cheese at the beginning of the cook time, which also shaves about 5 minutes of cook time off the total. I like the way that the exposed part of the filling gets a little crispy while baking, so I choose to add mine at the end and then pop them back in to melt the cheese.

These Italian stuffed bell peppers with ground beef are an ample meal all on their own, no sides necessary! But if you feel like you need just a little something more, a super simple tossed salad and/or some fresh fruit are the perfect light additions.
