How to Make Doggie Biscuits | Homemade Dog Treats | Allrecipes.com

Only 5 human-grade ingredients are needed for these cute little treats! All are easy on your dogs stomach. I tested these treats on a few of our familys dogs with flying colors. Yours will love them, too!

  • Pumpkin Purée: Adding pumpkin purée helps these treats to be easily digestible!
  • Peanut Butter: What dog doesnt like peanut butter? It is full of proteins and healthy fats for your pup. Just make sure there isnt any xylitol in the brand you choose. Xylitol is an artificial sweetener that is toxic to dogs.
  • Eggs: Used as a binding agent to give these treats their cookie-like form!
  • Whole-Wheat Flour: I like to use whole-wheat flour for its health benefits. If your dog has a gluten intolerance, opt for a gluten-free flour!
  • Cinnamon: In small quantities, cinnamon is a perfectly safe ingredient for dog treats. It will add extra flavor!

Best of all, these homemade treats are incredibly easy with ingredients you already have on hand peanut butter, some leftover pumpkin puree from the holidays, eggs and whole wheat flour.

How Do You Make Peanut Butter Dog Treats With Oatmeal The Right Size For Your Pups

Most of the year, I prefer to make them in small rounds that are a great size for rewards for or mid-sized pups. Around Christmas, however, I pull out the bone shaped cookie-cutter and frosting and make a batch of Christmas-themed treats. These are usually broken in half and they only each receive a half of a bone. You can also roll out the sheet, grab a pizza cutter, and cut simple squares out of the dough. Do what works best for you and the size of your dog.

These are great for your own pups and for gifting to neighbors with pups.

How Do You Make Good Dog Training Treats

EASY Homemade Dog Treats featuring MY PUPPY!! | RECIPE

The best dog training treat for YOUR dog is a treat that:

  • Is bite-sized or easy to break into little pieces
  • Is not too messy

Small or breakable treats are usually the best fit for training treats because you dont want to wait around while your dog chews a gigantic remote control sized biscuit. Sometimes you want something that is already in tiny units and other times you may prefer a larger treat that is easy to break up.

In my opinion, how messy a dog treat is negotiable. Personally, I dont like my dog treats to ooze all over my hands. Or end up slobbered all over my pant leg. And if a treat is going in my pocket, it better be bone dry!

But the most important thing about a training treat is that your dog thinks it is absolutely delicious.
