  • 1 pound Hersheys Symphony chocolate bars Candy bars come in a variety of sizes use whatever quantity adds up to 1 pound.

Have you ever cooked something that got enthusiastic raves but was so easy that you were almost embarrassed to admit it? For cooks like me who take some kind of silly pride in making things from scratch, its especially embarrassing to admit that a mix was involved in the recipe. Its even more frustrating when youve cooked your tail off making all kinds of good stuff from scratch, and its an out-of-a-cardboard-box mix recipe that everyone loves the most.

Thats my story with baking these brownies. I first heard about the recipe at a Pampered Chef show in 2005. They sounded so easy, and everyone raved about them so much that I gave them a try. King-Man said they were the best brownies hed ever eaten. He even asked for them in place of a birthday cake that year. T-man, Brackenthebox, and all of their friends who came over for periodic feasting at football parties concurred. These brownies were the best.

So, Im swallowing my everything-from-scratch-is-better pride and admitting that these brownies truly are fantastic. So rich and delicious that I might as well just throw in the towel and not try to improve on these. I have slightly tweaked the original recipe or more accurately, I have tweaked the assembly method. The ingredients have remained the same.

Tips For Making The Best Brownies

HERSHEY

Brownies are an easy and delicious treat you can whip up in under an hour. Theyre so straightforward even the kids can pitch in.

Of course, there are some dos and donts in baking. For example:

  • Do measure the ingredients carefully, and spoon the flour into the cup instead of scooping and packing too much in.
  • Do let the brownies cool completely before slicing.
  • Do be gentle with the batter and try not to overmix.
  • Dont overbake the brownies, and be sure to pull them from the oven as soon as you see the edges pulling away from the pan.

Although brownies are hard to get wrong, I have a few more tips to ensure youll always get them right.

Choose The Right Cocoa

Hersheys regular unsweetened cocoa powder is very rich and gives these a wonderfully intense chocolate taste. But oddly enough, even though its unsweetened, it will make your brownies slightly sweeter than darker cocoa.

Speaking of darker cocoa, you can use Hersheys special dark cocoa here, too. Thats because the recipe calls for baking powder, not baking soda.

This darker cocoa is Dutch-processed, meaning its taken a little alkaline bath before being processed. That alkaline makes the cocoa more neutral and less bitter.

It also means it wont react with baking soda, which is why this recipe calls for baking powder.

Either of these will work in this recipe. What wont work? Sweetened cocoa with excess sugar!

When To Serve Hershey Cocoa Brownies

Hershey Cocoa Brownies can be enjoyed anytime of the year. This basic recipe produces the ideal soft and chewy texture with plenty of rich chocolate flavour.

Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies – Easy recipe Anyone Can Make

I like to start by pre-heating my oven to 350 degrees and greasing a 13×9 baking pan. You can use parchment paper, which is fine if you dont have a non-stick baking pan, but just be sure to grease the paper, too.

When the pan is prepared, I go ahead and put the water on to boil. Then I mix cocoa and baking soda in a large bowl, then stir in the 1/3 cup butter. The butter needs to be room temperature, not melted.

After thats all mixed together, I pour in my boiling water and stir until the brownie batter mixture thickens.

Then you just stir in sugar, eggs and the remaining 1/3 cup butter and mix until smooth.

Add flour, vanilla and salt then blend completely.

If youre going to add-in anything, this is where youll stir in nuts or brickle or whatever. Just 1/4 cup of anything, or youre going to negatively impact the gooeyness factor.

Then its time to pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Bake 35-40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the panor a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean, whichever.

If youve doubled the recipe, you need to think about baking it for an additional 30 minutes, checking the brownies for doneness every 10 minutes or so.

But this recipe will make 2 dozen brownies, which is a lot. So, unless youre making these chocolate brownies for a party, youre probably good for this size

Next, in a measuring cup, combine eggs, vanilla and oil. Mix up wet ingredients with a fork.

Then, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

What You Need To Make This Recipe

Fudgey Special Dark Brownies

Cocoa powder I love using a high-quality Dutch-processed cocoa powder. Dutch-processed cocoa powder is darker, less acidic, and fudgier in baked goods making it perfect for fudgy brownies! My go-to company is Ghirardelli 100% Cocoa or Hersheys Special Dark Dutch-Processed cocoa powder but there are lots of great brands out there, including Valrhona, Callebaut, and lots of organic and fair trade options too!

Butter Make sure you use unsalted butter because additional salt is added to the brownie recipe separately. The butter also needs to be melted which you can do on the stove or in the microwave in short bursts.

Eggs eggs are essential for a gooey and delicious texture theyre also what helps the brownies to rise in the oven since there is no baking powder involved. They should be at room temperature so take them out of the fridge in advance.

Sugar I use a combination of white sugar and brown sugar, the brown sugar adds a lot of flavor and texture .

Coffee A little splash of coffee adds so much flavor to these brownies and really brings out the chocolate flavor. It is optional so if you dont want to use any just skip or add a drop more of vanilla.

Vanilla Make sure to use real vanilla extract and not essence which is synthetic.

Salt Although this is a sweet recipe salt really enhances the flavors, you just need a little.

How To Make Epic Candy Bar Brownies

    Ingredients:

    • 6 pack Hersheys chocolate bars
    • 1 family size brownie mix and ingredients called for on the box. For my brand, I also needed eggs, water and oil.

    Steps:

    1) Mix your brownies according to the instructions of your particular brand.

    2) Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick spray and pour half of the batter in.

    3) Place your Hersheys chocolate bars on top of the bottom layer of brownie batter. It doesnt need to look pretty, as you can see.

    4) Top with the remaining batter and smooth out, making sure that all of the chocolate pieces are covered with brownie batter.

    5) Bake according to the directions on your brownie mix box, but ERR ON THE SIDE OF UNDER-COOKING. I cook mine for the minimum recommended amount of time and that seems to work well. You want these to be nice and moist.

    6) Once they are done cooking, allow them to fully cool. THIS IS CRUCIAL. Believe it or not, you want the Hersheys bars to completely harden again. They are MUCH tastier when you get the crunch of the candy bar in the middle. I tried them once when the chocolate was warm thinking they would be awesome, but they werent that great. If you are pinched for time, you can put them in the refrigerator to cool them more quickly.

    7) Once your brownies are cool, slice them and serve them. But be careful! People will beg you to make these, so be ready for the requests to roll in afterwards. For that reason, think carefully about who you are willing to serve them to

The Best Cocoa Powder Brownie Recipe

    Hershey’s Triple Chocolate Brownies

How to make the best fudgy cocoa powder brownies This simple and easy recipe uses Hersheys unsweetened cocoa powder with eggs, flour, sugar, butter, and oil to make the best moist homemade chewy chocolate fudge brownies from scratch. One bowl recipe.

My go-to hobbies during the quarantine have been walking, reading, crocheting, baking, and gaining weight. I have done a lot of all five.

When the lockdown was really tight, and we were asked not to go to the grocery store more than once a week, I was desperate to make some brownies but had no chocolate. And even if it would have been okay to go to the store, they were closed since now that there is a pandemic, even Walmart closes at 8:30pm.

I had only ever made brownies with chocolate chips or unsweetened chocolate before, so I didnt know exactly what to do. Even so, I was convinced that it was possible to make good brownies with only cocoa powder, and I went to work.

I fudged my way through the brownies though and ended up with a very nice fudge brownie recipe. I have included the single batch recipe, but I always double it because they disappear so quickly. As always, I prefer to use a brownie pan, but a muffin pan or even an 8×8 pan will work.

I prefer the single serving pans because then no one complains about having been cheated by poorly measured cutting, and also because everyone gets brownies with crisp edges. My family likes the crisp edges .

How To Make This Easy Brownie Recipe

This brownie recipe is the easiest to make because everything can be mixed together in one bowl and you dont even need a bowl for the frosting! Its the perfect one-bowl brownie recipe!

First you will need to mix the butter and sugar together with a mixer for about 2-3 minutes, until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and mix together. Add the Hersheys syrup and the flour and continue to mix until well combined.

Prepare a 9X13 pan by placing parchment paper on the bottom and up the sides of the pan. Bake at 350° for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. If you want slightly thinner brownies, you can use a 10X15 jelly roll pan instead. If you use a jelly roll pan, only bake for about 25 minutes.

While the brownies are baking, you need to open the Hershey bars and break them up into the little squares. As soon as the brownies are done, turn the oven off and then place the Hershey bar squares all over the top -they dont have to be perfectly lined up but if you are slightly obsessive-compulsive then go ahead and put them in straight lines. You want a little bit of space in between each square.
