Transfer to a plate. Add another drizzle of oil and shrimpto pan. Cook until shrimp is opaqueand cooked through, 3-4 minutes. Stir in remaining lime zest and juicefrom remaining lime wedges. Seasonwith salt and pepper.

Meanwhile, wrap tortillas in damppaper towels and microwave untilwarm and pliable, about 30 seconds. Divide tortillas between plates and fillwith shrimp and veggies. Top withpico de gallo and crema. Serve.

How To Make Shrimp Tacos


All it takes is a little prep work and some quick cooking. Heres what to do:

  • Cook the bacon. Lay the bacon on a sheet pan and pop it in the oven at 400F for 18-20 min.
  • Make the slaw. While the bacon is cooking, thinly slice the cabbage and add it to a mixing bowl, along with the chopped cilantro. Once the bacon is cooked and cooled, crumble that into the bowl along with the olive oil, lime juice, salt and pepper, and stir it all together.
  • Prep the shrimp. In a separate mixing bowl, add the shrimp, olive oil and spices, and toss together.
  • Cook the shrimp. Heat a sauté pan on medium heat and cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. You can also grill the shrimp for extra char!
  • Assembly time. Assemble the tacos by adding a spoonful of slaw to a tortilla, topping with several pieces of shrimp, a few slices of avocado, and if youd like, a drizzle of lime crema.

    How To Make Bang Bang Shrimp

  • Bang Bang Sauce Combine mayo, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha.
  • combine marinade ingredients and pour over shrimp. Stir and let sit while you heat the oil to 375F on a clip-on pot thermometer.
  • Dredge Remove shrimp from marinade one at a time, letting excess drip off. Dip in corn starch, tapping off the excess.
  • Fry Once all shrimp are breaded, fry in 3 batches for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes until golden brown, crispy, and cooked through. Use a strainer to transfer shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Add Sauce Transfer warm shrimp to a mixing bowl and drizzle with half of the sauce.
  • Make Tacos toast corn tortillas, add toppings, shrimp and drizzle with remaining sauce. Serve with fresh lime wedges to squeeze over the top.
  • Pro Tip: Use a clip-on pot thermometer to keep the temperature of the oil steady at 375F and be sure to bring the oil back to temperature before adding the next batch. If the oil cools too much, the shrimp will absorb more oil, if it gets too hot, the shrimp may burn.

    Sweet Potato And Black Bean Tacos With Avocado Crema

    Sweet potato tacos are one of my favorite vegetarian meals. Theyre filling, extra sweet, and so pretty laid out on a plate.

    Roasting the potatoes will give them great texture and depth of flavor, and I like to add some paprika to mine for a bit of heat.

    To make these vegan, try using a dairy-free yogurt alternative in place of the sour cream for the crema.
