Do I Have To Use Fresh Herbs

4 Easy & Quick Greek Yogurt Dip Sauce Recipes

When fresh herbs are readily available or when you already have them on hand, they are fabulous in this dip. But that’s not to say that dried herbs won’t work as well…they totally will!

You just have to tweak the amounts since dried herbs are approximately three times more potent than fresh.

So for this recipe, you’d use 1 tablespoon dried parsley plus 1 teaspoon dried dill in place of the fresh herbs.

What To Do With Leftover Greek Yogurt Dips:

Leftovers of each of these dips may be stored, covered, in the refrigerator for up to a week.

You can serve them again as a dip for an appetizer.

You can also use the pesto dip and creamy chili dip to baste onto grilled chicken or meats. Theyd be great with roasted shrimp too.

Or use these as a spread for a wrap or sandwich.

Or add a dollop of one of the savory dips as a creamy topping to a grain bowl.

So many ways to enjoy these!

Is Greek Yogurt Is A Good Source Of Protein

Greek yogurt is a GREAT source of protein! In order to have the finished product of that thick, creamy Greek yogurt texture we all love, a good amount of the water is drained out. This leaves behind a concentrated source of protein. When I would follow a macro-nutrient plan, I always made sure to have a tub of this Stonyfield Organic Greek Yogurt in my fridge. It made for an easy and delicious way to make sure I hit my protein gram goal by the end of the day.

What Is The Healthiest Greek Yogurt Brand

Its my personal belief that if youre looking for healthy Greek Yogurt, Stonyfield Organic is the best option. Here at Fed & Fit, we are ALL about food quality, wanting to make sure that we get the most nutritional bang for our buck. I am a BIG fan of the Stonyfield Greek Yogurt for four reasons:

  • Its made from organic dairy. Organic dairy is VERY different from its conventional counterpart. It has more micronutrients and doesnt include the growth hormones and antibiotics youll find in other options. In fact, when cows are actively grazing on organic pasture, their milk contains 62% higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids than conventional milk. After touring some actual dairy farms in Vermont who supply Stonyfield with organic dairy, I will ONLY bring organic dairy into our house from here-on-out.
  • Its not just organic, but also grass-fed. Holding themselves to even higher standards, the dairy farms Stonyfield sources their milk from abide by grass-fed practices. The organic standard requires all organic dairy cows to get 30% of their Dry Matter Intake from pasture, and actively graze at least 120 days per year. These are well-fed, happy cows!
  • Its one of the few full-fat options Ive found! As a holistic nutritionist, Im a big believer in the power of real foods in their most natural form. I dont like the idea of removing healthy fats from yogurt. I love that the Stonyfield Organic Full-Fat Greek Yogurt is a complete food with a great balance of protein and fat.

    • Garlic powder added for flavoring. You can also add the freshly minced garlic cloves.
    • Onion powder brings sweetness from the onion, so do not skip it.
    • Oil: Use extra virgin oil for the best flavor. You can also skip it if you want to make it oil-free.

    Tzatziki Nutrition & Yogurt Notes

Nutritionally speaking, tzatziki is a creamy but light sauce. You can dollop it generously on your food without adding a lot of calories . Its made mostly with Greek yogurt and cucumber, after all.

I havent found a noticeable difference in texture whether I use whole-milk yogurt, low-fat or non-fat, so any of those will work. Traditional Greek tzatziki is made with strained goat or sheeps yogurt, but its hard to find those here. The Greek yogurt sold here in the U.S. is strained yogurt , so I use that.

As always, please let me know how you like this recipe in the comments! Im excited to hear how it turns out for you and how you serve it.

Notes On Making Greek Yogurt Dips:

    • You can use nonfat, 2% or 5% plain Greek yogurt whatever you have on hand.
    • The pesto dip calls for pesto. I love using homemade basil pesto but you could substitute a store-bought variety as well.
    • Use strawberries or a mixed berry combination for the fruit in the fruity yogurt dip. Or feel free to substitute mangoes or another favorite fruit to change up the flavor of the dip.
    • You could substitute a vanilla Greek yogurt or add a touch of honey to the fruity yogurt dip if you want to sweeten it up a bit.
    • You can also add extra pesto or fruit puree to your dips if you want to amp up those flavors even more.
    • Also, beware that the chili dip is spicy! You can omit the adobo chili and just use some of the sauce if you want to tame the heat.

    • Cucumber Adds vegetables, and cool, green cucumber flavor.
