Can I used 5 teaspoons of Italian died seasoning in lieu of the 2 teaspoons dried basil, 2 teaspoons dried parsley, 1 teaspoon dried oregano??? Or would you use less? I add this seasoning when I use a Prego jar also.

How To Make Spaghetti In Your Instant Pot

Start with your Instant Pot on sauté mode and add the olive oil. Once it is hot add the onions and garlic and sauté for about 5 minutes. Stir often making sure they dont burn.

Turn off the sauté mode and stir in the kosher salt. Then pour in the chicken broth and scrape up and browned bits from the bottom.

Pro Tip: never skip scraping up the browned bits when using the Instant Pot. It helps prevent the burn notice.

Grab the spaghetti and break in half. Place the spaghetti in the pot in a crisscross pattern. This prevents the pasta from cooking in one large clump.

Do not stir the pasta at this point, just give it a light press to make sure that it is all touching the liquid.

Pour half the jar of sauce over the pasta, then sprinkle on the seasonings.

Close the lid and turn the pressure valve to seal. Set to cook for 2 minutes.

At the end do a 5 minute natural release. Finish with a quick release.

PRO TIP: It will look a little watery when you open the pot, dont worry, the starches from the cooked pasta will thicken it up while it cools!

Stir in the rest of the jar of sauce and toss the pasta. Let the pasta rest for about 5 minutes so it can thicken a little while it cools.

Taste for additional seasonings , then serve warm topped with parmesan cheese.

Making The Spaghetti Sauce

The first step in making the sauce is browning the onions. Toss the diced onions in first and get them nice and translucent. Then toss in the first round of garlic. Do not burn the garlic, just sizzle it a bit to let it smell up the room. Then toss in the ground beef.

Brown the beef and drain off the excess fat. Set it aside if you wish to cook with it later. It makes a delicious cooking fat since it has the onion/garlic taste in it.

Toss in the rest of the ingredients , stirring as you go. The second garlic addition goes in now. Ill explain that in a bit. Stir everything together and set it to simmering. Itll seem a watery but itll thicken as it simmers.

After the simmer is finished and you are ready to serve, since in the chopped basil. This adds a layer of brightness to the sauce, but cooked basil as less awesome.

  • Drain the beef and add the sauce.
  • Look at those lovely, chunky tomatoes.
  • Everything else added to make this tasty sauce. Time to Simmer.

How To Make Nanas Easy Meat Sauce

  • First, set a heavy-bottomed 6 quart sauce pot over medium heat. Add the butter and onions, and stir until the onions become soft. If they start to brown, turn the heat down to medium-low.
  • Then stir in the minced garlic and sautÃé for another couple of minutes. Next add in the ground sausage, ground beef, and dried oregano. Cook the meat and break into small pieces with a wooden spoon. Once the meat pieces are well browned, stir in the tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes.
